Need to Study a tad more...there was a guy who built his own low ratio gearbox for his Tiger about two or three years ago...He pmed ...me to give me some details...thing is his were super low...the tank could almost go up a vertical incline...not what I'm interested in :haha: ...for the M1 ...the need is for speed :D

Mated to 4.1 gears....hard to say...stock 3.1s would fly ...would definitely need to change to steel though ;)

Kiaser wrote:Had a chat about that so possible to change to 3:1 , what do you think Alpha step in the right direction ??? For HL upgrading .

I like the in line gear setup and enclosed metal housing full bearings .
I think the gearboxes are sweet...just the gear ratio a little low ...man..if I could put a couple of my High torque Airsoft motors in it...I really think it would tear up the place :haha: ....When I did tech work...I hooked one up direct to power ...I swear ..I never heard another motor scream like that ...and it wasn't even a name brand Systema motor...that was slower by far in comparison....thing is those motors run on 12 volt...so not sure there is an RX that can handle :'(

FIREFLY UPDATEs:

Spliced in some section of tracks..(suggested by Painless) it was tricky...the new vinyl is different from the old stuff that was on before...it carved away easy enough...but was very heat sensitive ....melted when I put a blow dryer to it  ....Live and learn...kept the heat away the second go around

Alpha,
Beautifully done! The splicing is done so well that it looks like one section of track. ;o) No more complaining about doing 1/35 scale stuff. You are better at it than I am by far.

Painless

It was dangerous to say the least Painless...had to cut the end pads in half so they would match up..Had to make sure my chisel blade was clean and sharp lol...slipped once...cut my finger a little...lucky it wasn't a gash :lolno: ....You can kind of still tell as the teeth are slightly different...less detail on the new section...the pads are thicker and the newer vinyl doesn't take paint as well...you can see the section in the second photo...the first one is kind of good lol
These 1/35ths built up are becoming very handy....I took some comparison photos of the Chi Nu and the Firefly ...proved to be surprising...as the Chi Nu is a relatively good sized tank ;)

As far as being better than anyone...I'd say nah to that lol......I'm just trying to slap these together as fast as I can so I can get back to 1/16...especially the Chi Nu ;) ....actually with my fading eyesight...........I'm surprised I got this far ;)
