I wish I had the eyesight I had when I built Bonnie. Would make a lot of the things I do now turn out better. ;o) I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of your research Sherman and following along on your Firefly build. Check out this Ebay link. These flexible Sherman tracks are in New Hampshire in the U.S. and there are enough sets to make Firefly tracks.

Alpha,
Apologies, I figured that they would work for a research build. Would definitely look better than a big gap or spacer. Had the benefit of being in the states. ;o)

No Problem Painless....if they stayed around the 5 dollar range it might have been worth the go....never used rubber before so it's the reason I asked you...thought you might know as you build all scales....haven't touched 1/35 in decades....so not familiar with what's new on the market and such...found out later that rubber isn't that friendly...doesn't take paint that well ...and is sensitive to heat ...don't relish the idea of picking the tank up one day and have goopy or brittle tracks fall off the tank ...even if it's a research tank ;) ...The vinyl ones have lasted this long...my modification should keep it looking ok for awhile...and you can't really tell if you close your eyes ;)
Did a quick brush job on her yesterday....had to do a color sand....so she's one solid color now...came out not bad I think...will post some photos later :D

Thanks again for the Help Painless...It was a good adventure to say the least

PS..Still deciding on skirts...they would cover the area that the tracks are joined...but it really isn't necessary...maybe after I post the photos ...you can give me your opinion

Alpha,
The Sherman looks great in fresh green paint! Those rubber tracks are for sale again for .99 first bid, 4 days, two sets. I found these others in vinyl that could be used to repair yours. Two days left on the auction. 0 Bids. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-35-Academy-M3 ... 3ab21b3a9b

Saw those Painless....kind of a bummer you brought and posted them here lol....had them on my watch...but for sure I'll just watch....think some board members or lurkers bid on the other sets lol...no matters...lots of Sherman stuff out there...and I'm not in a rush with these research tanks...reason I don't put markings on them ;) Think this one will serve it's purpose and in the end pay for itself once I begin the build in 1/16th...that's the one that's important :D

Alpha,
That's unfortunate about the other tracks. Apologies again. I'm certain that you can find your own stuff and will let you do so in the future. ;o)

NO BIGGIES Painless...I didn't know people sold that stuff separately...so you did me a favor...now I know...But like I said...these have no priority....for me this is pretty much finished....still thinking about skirts which would cost me nothing to produce...and they would cover that bare area where the tracks are joined...it's static...non functional...so the possibilities are sky high... :D

PS...Got more photos on the other thread....also some for the Ferdinand I have planned...was going to post the pics on your thread...but the thread disappeared 8O

Alpha,
I just checked. The book thread is still there. 'Ferdinand and Elefant Tank Destroyer' Understood on the tracks. As you said, No Biggie.
