Hi Alpha. Just saw your query on other anime. For now, I'm watching a, uhm, "slice of life" genre kind of anime because it calms me down.

KanColle (Kantai Collection) is best described as a Japanese fantasy revision of Pacific WW2 naval history where women from pre-teens to middle age are reincarnated Japanese WW2 warships, fighting aliens that represent the USN WW2 - and winning. Told ya it was revisionist hehehe Oh, gun size is represented by, uhm, larger "frontal armour" if you get my drift hehehehe

I'm still figuring out how to do the anti-slip on mine. I'm thinking of using grade 150 sandpaper glued to the hull and paint over.

I'm also dispensing with the smoker. I've asked a former M1 tanker how much smoke an M1 makes. He says only when it starts, and not much even that you'd miss it. So I'm taking out the smoker in mine since US M1s use JP8 fuel and that burns cleaner IIRC vs diesel.

I really can't wait to get my funds for the IBU Pro kit for the M1. The HL sounds don't do justice to the high pitched jet engine whine that turbine engine makes....

Hey ATC...thanks for the titles...never heard of them...will have to look them up or ask my Nephew...right now he's been watching a lot of the newer anime...so is probably more well versed in them than I ....Frontal armor eh?.......guess I'll look up that one first :haha:

Thought of doing that as well....just wasn't sure how the edges would blend in...I have a good stippling style down pat...using tacked paint ...so will probably go that route as I can get just about any texture I want

Right now I'm going to leave the smoker in...just because when I do run mine...the sound of the smoker plus the sound of the motor...comes close to a turbine :haha: ...try it ..it's kind of funny....if you turn the volume down low enough so that the whine of the smoker can be heard....it actually sounds ok lol

No pictures for me today as well....made my gun shield a little small so redid that....then I finally got the com cupola off ...
(was that a job and a half )...since I have work to do on the cupola...will probably take some pictures of the whole area at once

Carpe Diem ATC

Just look at the diagram I posted in my build of what to mask off before doing any texture and use the wet paint sprinkled with the woodland scenic stuff then overspray with any color canned enamel to lock it in place. It really does wonders in the way the tank ends up looking and other then taking the time to mask it the job is quick and easy.

Remember to look at your reference photos for the way the 50 cal copula to pintle arms are shaped. HL made them stick straight out while they really have a slight more upward bend at the copula end and a bend at the pintle end that levels it out enough to clear the gunners sight box throughout the when the copulas 50 cal mounting ring is rotated.

Not at all. Put it to use while you still have your build in pieces. These apply to all Abrams now fielded by every army that has purchased them. Only the original 105 mm did not have it applied.
Please reposition the grenade launchers before you run the angle iron cable guards to them, they were only designed to lob grenades about 30 yrds and pointed more up them HL has them.

What do you think of the gun shield Giant...also the repositioned commanders gun? from my point of view it fits the genre...the shield adds a little dimension...not going to do the small bits on the bottom just because One...they don't really need it..and Two because I don't think it will add anything ;)
