Shaun,
Apart from some small difference in sockets position, the production boards will be identical.
So yes, all the connectors will be labelled with the related function.

Thanks Ivano! Some more questions:

Sorry, I'm clueless, wot is FW?

As you mentioned in a previous post, there will be gun stabilization for modern tanks.I guess that's the module for the expansion port? Will the expansion module be sold separately (ya know, to keep the base board cost down) and if so, will there be some soldering required? Or is it a simple plug-and-play like the TPA on the IBU2 Pro?

It is great to learn that dimensions are a bit smaller than the IBU2. Any reduction of size, even by 1mm, is good IMO. Looks like the IBU3 also has a reduced height (when laid down) compared to the IBU2 Pro with TPA.

I was looking for the USB port but I think I found the pins for it. Does it come with an adapter or connector for the USB?'

Amazing how CLEAN the board is compared to the IBU2 Pro and the prototype that was posted in the first post of this thread. Awesome work!

Is the TR jumper for a "training" mode?

AB must be for the modern tanks - Anti-lock braking ;)

The sound is good (i cannot say very good, amazing, extraordinary and so on, i'll let the users tell about).
As Ian said only one speaker, 12W @ 2S li-po (8.4V), the sound samples have similar arrangement as IBU2 but no more microSD card, only one engine running sample.
A lot of new sounds and all customizable.
...
I suppose everyone saw that article where they especially recorded 4gb of Tiger sounds during the filming of Fury, wonder what the chances are that that is part of the "good" sound? :D

I thought TR was Track Recoil.

@ atcttge
FW is the "firmware", the program writted inside IBU3 microprocessor.
All the future modules will be plug-&-play, connected to expansion port with a flat cable.
A USB cable adapter will come with the board so no need to open the tank for configuration, simply mount the USB female header under a hacth and it's done.
The picture at the beginning of this thread shows a big debugging board for development purpose.

@Big N00b
TR connections are for the new Taigen BB servo recoil.
AB is the audio pot bypass, no need of the pot if you have a TX channel (pot or slider) used for remote volume control.
Unfortunately i have not enough money to spend for recording sound at this level, the improvements come from a lot of work on audio management.

Wow what a big news!. Im very happy with my Ibu 2 Pro and the technical support and I will buy a Ibu3 for sure. It looks perfect but I only have one big concern about it, and is the airsoft capabilty. How does it works? The only thing I dont like about the Ibu2 Pro is to set the time that winds the airsoft spring, because it is almost imposible to set the exact time it needs to wind.

Great, looking forward to it. Would be awesome to fix it on the ibu 2 pro too.

Are there any demo videos of the IBU3 available?
