Did a bit more this evening, rear screens, spent ages doing those only to cover half of them up with the storage racks, which were also a pain

Until I get to the shovel and crane this is all scratch building tiny little bits and pieces, and there are a lot of them.

Did the curved sections on the back of the rear deck, I am quite pleased with how well they turned out, as I thought that lining everything up was going to be a difficult task.

The storage bins now have support brackets, and the scrap turret vent from my Bulldog was retreived from the parts bin for the housing on the rear deck. Rear tow hooks from a Pershing were used, they magically clipped straight into the holes I had drilled and are a perfect match for the ARRV. There are other bits and pieces that I have done, but they won't show up until it gets painted.

Now fitted with storage boxes on the engine deck. I will add the detail when I do the whole ARV, there is a removable hoist that mounts on the rear that is stored on the sloped front armour, I might have a go at that tomorrow. Painting this will be oh so much fun.. I will have to get hold of some Vallejo primer so that I can airbrush it and then get into the nooks and crannies with a normal brush.

Not a lot done today, just the hoist that is stored at the front but used at the back, a couple of boxes made up and glued onto the side boxes, and started making up cables and end clamps. This is definately the tedious part, but without detailed parts the completed model never looks complete? (and there are a lot of detailed parts).....

Yes, it's coming along, I set myself a regime where I would do 'something' every day, as that way I would always be making progress. It seems to have worked. I am the first to admit that it isn't true scale, but it's pretty close and proportional.

It will be completed one day, but I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just a guy with a torch and an armful of styrene...

Now this might not look much, but making four tow cables with their shackles has taken me several hours. My poor fingers! They all have to be identical as there is a pair of cables mounted on each side. Pretty much all done now, which means no more cables and shackles to make as the ones at the front are all done.

Tow cables and shackles all done, along with the side and rear mounting plates, it's starting to look like the model it is supposed to be now, though still a long way to go. I'll get to the model shop in the New Year for some brass strip etc so that I can make the cable clamps.
