A little heat from a lighter and my KV antenna base pulled right up.

3rd Day: Nothing in the post today but I did luck out and find and order the Tamiya bagged MG for the hull. I had been searching for an alternative to the HL 'black stick' this time around. I wanted to use the nice, bright LED that came on the tank so the deluxe Bug and Tiger 1 MGs were out. The Tamiya unit is in parts so will work well with enough extra detail to make me very happy with the appearance of the bow MG. On to pictures:

I cheated and just got out the old wet and dry smoothed every thing needed then put the metal grill over top ....wot wot [my delivery is on its way its in the van just waiting for the man ]

That sounds like a good solution. You did such a good job, I didn't notice it. I'm going to have to cut the grill free from part of the top half of the hull attachment posts under there. Finicky work but it will give me a support for the metal ones to rest on. I will still put the center bar support back in but it can be scale sized now. Cool beans on your delivery making it in soon! ;o)

4th Day: Nothing in the post again but still plenty to do. Tonight I pulled the turret rotator box temporarily and shaved off one of it's three mounting posts. The one _right_ over the cut I was making for the top of the engine bay grills. Well, two screws and a piece of double stick or some hotglue will keep it in place when the time to reassemble comes. On with the pictures:

Those are the kinds of presents to warm up the Holidays! Now that they have arrived, enjoy! the one and anticipate the other until Christmas morning. ;o)

will try old chap ,have given my spare top a lick of dulux and done bit of welding same with the turret but the more I mess the more I want to change what I have started not good .......

5th Day: Nothing delivered again. *chuckles* I wanted a little break so I took one of the spare HL .50 cals I have that didn't look too bad and detailed it for my Pershing. The .50 on that tank looked like it had been through a fire it was so deformed. I had tried to fix it up a little earlier this year by moving the ammo box to the right position but it was still bugging me. This new .50 cal entailed drilling out the muzzle and all of the barrel jacket casing holes and the holes in the band securing the forward grip. I painted the handles, drilled the sight and painted the body Olive Drab. As a final touch I added the firing button in silver. It's nicely painted and looks a lot better on the Pershing than the original one but is no great shakes since it is still an early HL .50 cal. The best thing HL ever did was start adding parts on sprues and keeping them away from the Glue Monkey. I'm saving the two parter .50 that came with this Sherman for my Walker Bulldog since it is also cursed with one of the early .50 cals. That's a job for another day. Work on the Sherman tonight entailed trimming out the top cut. Only the sides and the supports left now. Pictures:
