Now it looks like i have to purchase another Ender3 and convert purely for printing tyres.

Resin 3D Printers!
Who has one and what can you recommend?

I think i am nearly at a stage of having new computer setup with my CAD and i want to do some real detail stuff for some of the models to affix to my fdm parts to really bring the detail alive.

Been reading about Anycubic PHOTON and also found a Elegoo thingy on Amazon, but what do i need to know.

I need to broaden what are capabilities are, thinking this is a good move

Not got one, but there's a chap on Facebook under the name Holden8702 who does a lot of 3d resin printing. You might find some information there.

I've got one, paid $1,200 for it, and still can't get the damn thing to work right. All I want to do is print tires.

I don't want to do tyres as i have another plan to machine moulds and actually cast tyres.

But this i want so i can do small objects and also possibly people with a high degree of accuracy. Just stuff not suited soo well to FDM.
But it certainly doesn't sound soo good you cannot get it to work!

Well, I was able to get it to print pretty well for small items, like 1/10 scale door handles for jackalope's RC truck, but the main reason I bought it was to try and print tires and that's the one thing I haven't been able to do. I have to admit, though, the quality on the little door handles was absolutely excellent. They looked like injection-molded Tamiya parts. Dammit, Will, now you've got me thinking I need to order more resin and try again. Thanks a lot, brother.

Just kidding, Will, I needed to try this thing again anyway. 8) @)

If they've gotten the software problem straightened out the creality ld-001 is a nice little resin printer, and I'm using the Wanhao D-8. I actually had the creality for a minute but the software was so horrible that I sent it back, that's why I say it will be a good printer, IF they have the slicing and software problem sorted out by now.

Hello, SherFly Here.
I have done lots of 3D printing, and there is a lot of mumbo-jumbo for this sort of thing.
My 3D printer works just fine for a beginner and it is the Creality Ender 3 Pro (see it here: https://www.creality3d.shop/products/cr ... 3d-printer)
I have found that the best way to keep the plastic from peeling is to hairspray, and to clean it use rubbing alcohol. you can get as accurate as 0.06mm
For printing, you can download Creality Slicer https://creality.com/download/slicing-software_c0010
And for designing, there are many programs that vary depending on experience level and price, so you can find which one suits you best. Although if you are intimidated by high prices, you can probably download a student version :shh: :D
Current Tanks:
Heng Long Panzer VI Tiger 1 (IR)
Sherman Firefly (Coming July 2020)

Thats good to hear.
I run 5 printers at the moment myself and have various modifications on a few Ender3 including Pro.
CR10S4 is a beast, i love it, but use rarely.
Peeling is a problem we don't suffer with anymore and i run most my prints high res for good surface finish.
Cura is awesome for slicing, but i use various for different things
But FDM can take you only so far, so i am looking into a SLA for next venture
But FDM has go tme this far so far :)

Hi Guys
I have been approached from many fronts to 3d print parts for helping with the Corona virus. ......
I think there is a massive misunderstanding about this technology and also what is safe.

I have to say I have and will continue to reject any request for parts due to hygiene and also health.
I hope I am not alone, but fdm printing at home with stuff like pla or abs or similar I inherently produces micro dust particles and vocs. Using such parts in ventilation equipment scares me greatly.
Also looking into sla and resin style printing, the materials used mainly are toxic. So I am hoping the medical requested parts are being provided by high end medical grade printing equipment, not stupidly manufactured in peoples houses.
