HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

That looks just great, Wayne. I had a feeling you would beat me to the finish line, and you'll still probably beat me to a running vehicle because I just ordered my Motors and they say it might take them as long as four weeks to get here.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Have a search for m_bergman on Thingiverse, if you’re lucky it will be amongst his 1/100 collections, they have much more detail than the 1/200 scale collections.
Also look through the remixes someone may have made something you’d like at a bigger scale.
If you want to practice on something relatively simple there is a PAK40 on Thingiverse at 1/56, you’d have fun tweaking it to 1/16

My wife been busy making some rough and ready canvas for my truck, next she has to make for my GAZ 34 Prototype

Hopefully the red/brown dies down a bit after drying

But i just using various shed and stone paints to die and making it look ragged and camouflaged. Hopefully tomorrow will get it tied down and have the sides rolled up for a good check fit.

It is made from stitching cotton liner and some fancy gauze type material together. Then using twine for the ropes. Hem the edges and paint. More pics to come
