Alpha, CH, *bows* I have gotten inspiration from the both of you. (and stowage bits from Alpha) *chuckles* The hat is Griffy's from his job site. He is part of a team that plans Cubicle parties and cookouts, etc. to brighten up the work week. I was laughing this morning. The tank's paint looks the same from the first day that I unboxed it. ;o) Good old Olive Drab. At least there is a lot of detail now and the tracks and road wheels haven't gone back on yet. A pin wash and all of that stowage and ropes and chains will add the finishing touches. I am considering what unit to make it. Probably something from 6th Armored. That was the tank division that had the rail illustration I noted and they had quite a few of the 105mm Shermans on hand for fire support.

72nd Day I've got a Meeting tonight at 6:00 right as work ends so that kills my evening model time. I tried to get in some work over lunch. I test fitted a couple of the add-ons to see if they looked as good against the new paint and I am satisfied. Out came the paints and brushes and I started on detail work. If I get home tonight in time, I'll get the new tracks and running gear sorted and on. Pics:

72nd Day cont.: The very last bits of detail came today from the inimitable Sassgrunt. The louvers for the engine bay doors on the rear deck. More reasons to pay it forward. ;o) I got out of the HOA meeting sooner than expected and came home to try to get in another hour on the Sherman. I managed to get the sprockets and idlers and the excellent dished road wheel set, again from Sassgrunt, mounted before the hour got late. I added a couple of bits of HL bounty as well. Pics:

I have given up on trying to get the IR and recoil all working. The wiring schematics I have for these HL tanks vary from what I have to work with. I have spent way too many hours trying to get it to work. Hoping to find a placed I can send it off to for final wiring on the battle system. I put out a few feelers here locally with the FRAG guys. I have to get it compatible with Tamiya for battling in the spring. I have my KV with a Mako ready to go, but really want to get the Pershing ready as well.

I picked up a metal Taigen Tiger lower to use with the leftovers of the Tigers I purchased. I am going to pick up pieces here and there and begin to put together an early African version. I still have my eyes open for another allied. I am thinking possibly a German Panther/ Ersats conversion for my next allied armor.

it is very important that this Sherman is carefully packed and crated before you ship it over the pond just think a metal m4a2 from alpha and a m4a3 from you smashing wot wot, ho and a nice job it is too ......

That sucks on the IR and recoil for the Pershing. After being so frustrated over simple wiring for tail lights recently tho', I understand the need for Know-How. Without Scalawag and Alpha's assistance, I would still be scratching my head I believe. Someone with electrical skills will get it working right. I will have to do a 'Battler' one day, based on one of my older tanks. It sounds like fun. ;o) I love the Early African Tiger 1. I have an earlier HL made up as the Bovington Tiger and have been seriously considering doing as you have done and doing a total upgrade on it. A total upgrade on these earlier tanks usually results in trashing most of the parts tho' and just keeping the hull or deck and turret. With new parts from Taigen or Asiatam, even those would get changed out. I need to do something tho'. These tanks are not small. While it is neat to have older ones in perfect running order, sort of a museum of Heng Long, I don't want to wind up like some crazy old lady with 40 cats (of a different kind) I will look for your build on the Tiger to begin as well as the neat idea to build an ersatz M10 out of a Panther.

Been following your build from the start, its a great hobby indeed I can see how you have developed yours skills and it makes me want to go back to my Sherman and do a few bits differently. Keep up the good work.

Eye op done this Saturday full HD vision restored, I won't go into detail but I saw every bit of the operation! Still need to adjust to focusing but long distance is good just need a new set of close up glasses which I should have after they give me the OK on 21Feb.
