To "unstiff" metal cable you have to temper it using high temperature (I used a gas stove on Aber cables). Steel need to be red-hot. After that it will be much softer.

Thanks for the tips! When it comes to fitting the smaller cable on the tank's left side I'll temper it first!
Been away on vacation so no progress for a bit, but back at it now. Got to see some tanks in a museum while I was gone.
Remade my gun cleaning rods with wood instead of the plastic. Also refinished all the hardware to be the same size instead of not matching lengths. They are all about the same size now and better effect to match the real ones.
Also fit the Aber antenna. The top is not glued, as it will be removable for turret rotation.
Seeya on the next episode!

Sov if you are after accurate barrel cleaning rods then you should know that one of the 6 was markedly shorter than the other 5.

And initial production Tigers only had five rods. Just sayin’.

I knew that early Tigers only had five, but I didn't know (or forgot?) that one was shorter than the rest. I've had a hard time finding good pictures of the original rods used on Tigers. Found pics of Panther and Tiger 2 rods but none for the Tiger, aside from Bovington's which I know are wrong and were made by the restorers.
This I can fix.

Sov!,
I echo Herman's sentiments. Very Very Good to see you getting on with it. Never enough Eye Candy on these tanks.

Hello,
you have put a lot of effort into the wire cutter.
But remember that the handles were not made of wood, the material used is "Bakelite".
With the right painting you can certainly achieve the right result.
