Looks like a very expensive full option large scale unit. Did he manage to save any of it before the foam melted?

Yeah I think he got it up in the air again...found that video years ago...and there was a followup ...there was extensive damage as one engine had malfunctioned causing it to overheat before powering up......give that guy props...it is an expensive hobby....to jump back on the horse so to say...is really commendable...guess it might have been a different story if the jet got totalled

Who knows though...that video is old...so maybe now he switched to tanks :haha:

Either that or tried something a little smaller with ducted fan electric engines :haha: Doubt that though if he has the money to go for real jet engines.
I like to search the tube for the big rc plane crashes @) . Think the sport is neat but just like auto racing I like to see some big wrecks :) on the high speed ovals of NASCAR.

OH...There are several aircraft fails on youtube...I was watching some last night lol....the jets always seem to catch fire...there was one where you just knew the plane wasn't going to fly...it's tail section was crooked....for sure the guy crashed...there was a follow up to that...where he repaired the plane ...straightened out the tail...and it finally got in the air...then there are the mid air crashes like this one

This owner wasn't happy at all...kind of makes me wonder ...is it really relaxing? :haha:

Yea that was quite a wreck and it appears to be a stick built plane not a foam one. Wonder were the operators mind was.

Next to one of the bases I was at in Germany a German club used to have combat contests every Sunday. The planes all pulled steamers behind them 4 in the air at a time and the object was to cut the streamer off the other competitors planes with your propeller while keeping your from being cut off. In 2 years of watching them never saw a midair collision, just a lot of superb flying skills on display

The planes were specially built to be really responsive. It was like watching a real dogfight by very skilled pilots.

bye the seat of your pants the Red Barons .
I was lucky to have a old RAAF pilot :D , who was also a spitfire pilot In the Battle of Britain he hand built this spitfire one of a kind , My mate was lucky he gave it to him just before he passed away, I should take some pictures .

I remember being on dual transmitters hard task master but I am glad now learned the right way , okay, Rudder, Rudder he would only say it twice , I have the controls , what ??? I am not to sure where your head is at the moment but remind me this arvo to get a lift home with someone else . why ??? if you fly like that then I hate to think what your driving is like :haha: :haha: :haha: .

So it is like the rc tanks having extra help before you botch the job

Yeah Dogfights are great...did more with tether or U-controlled planes...it was tricky lol...lucky those were relatively cheap back then...and also could be repaired easily as well....The planes flew pretty much at full throttle all the time....the battle was to trim a ribbon being towed by the plane...have to say ...even with several mishaps...it was still fun :D ....mostly because sometimes we wouldn't stop at the ribbon and start trimming the other guys rudder :haha:

These guys all used a rather basic rc control. three control functions, up/down. rudder, and bank. the engines ran at full speed but they would put on propellers with different pitches to control air speed. The planes had big control surfaces so they reacted very fast. Watching them I used to wonder how they managed to do the battle while running full speed and not crash or get crashed into.

Did see at another location the same thing you talk about with the tethered controls. Only two guys at a time battled in kind of an elimination tournament until they had a winner. Saw some crashes there mostly when they crossed up each others control lines and both planes went down, but actually much fewer then I expected.
