YHR dont think anyones personally attacking you but just there opinion mate and the term "rip off britain" means just that we in britain get ripped off LMAO
there shipping rates arent anywhere near trying to get a tammy to your door from HK (£75)
while they charge $55 us which = £38
although would be cheaper for us in can dollars about £30
so for a stug with metal gearboxes and track set would cost in can dollars about £134 w/shipping
and the same tank if international £147 dealing in US$  w/shipping

now can you get that over here or europe for that last one ??
Trust me I do not feel attacked.  I just wanted to point out some facts, and express some opinion about those facts. Exactly the point of an open forum!!!!!!

Bottom line is cost to your door. Why worry about the components that make up that cost.  For me the bottom line isn't only cost.  It is also about this hobby growing and more products being made available.  So I choose to support Mato, as they are the guys doing the development.  That is why some of you choose to pay more, but support the local guy.  He makes money and then he can order more stock for your easy access.   It isn't always about what is cheapest. Sometimes you have to step back and look at the big picture.  Tough economic times sometimes make stepping back hard, so you do what you can do.

Speaking of the economy.  If we don't start ignoring what the press is saying we are doomed to fulfill their prophecy of economic doom.  The circulation of money is what keeps this thing going.  Stop circulating money and our ability to hold society together will be lost.

Get spending. Our lives depend on it ;D!!!!!!

Considering where you are located that makes perfect sense to me.  I buy from Pugwash and Welsh Dragon Models for stuff I can't get locally.

Well one thing I think we can all agree on is the fact there are a lot of people selling tanks now.A lot of places,a lot of different models,
different scales, several manufacturer's,And a big varity of prices. In the market place you can put any price you choose on these tanks
it's up to the seller.Go on E-BAY any day of the week and you will see pages full of them new and used. You can buy them from around the world,or in your own back yard. You can see the same tank being placed for sale  ( example ==A standard non-S&S HL Tiger tank out of the box for $60.00 dollars to $150.00 ) plus what they think you will pay for shipping of the same tank (from $15.00 to $45.00 dollars and I have seen even higher shipping charges). And I'm talking about the one's being bought and sold here in the U.S.,not in other places. Now we all know a business is selling these to make a profit, the question is how much of a profit do you feel they should make off a tank when it is coming out of your "pocket".I don't know what the bigger sellers pay for these tanks in the "example" above from the factory in quanity, but I would guess around 25 to 27 dollars.(just a guess) So I guess the whole thing boils down to what they are worth to the person who is buying them.I allways had assumed that people shop around and compare prices but this don't seem to be the case.

Back to Mato toys, when ever there is a post on them it allways generates a busy topic. The same is to be said about a simple word or sentence with the name "Tamiya" in it. ;D  I don't know who was the first seller to come up with the idea of getting replacement parts for the HL tanks, but my hat off to them because it makes it nice for all of us who like to tear these tanks apart and play around with their internals. One thing we can say for Mato they were there with spare parts and we were thankfull for that at the time. But there is this little thing called "competition",and all those in business have to deal with this and most of the time have to adjust or they won't be around long.I wold love to know how many tanks HL produced and sold last year,it would be very interesting and could provide an insight on how big the tank hobby realy is.I don't know how big Mato realy is,and I'm sure they count on a lot of their sales going to the U.S.---Mato,Raidentech,banana hobby, hobbytron, tower hobby,(these are all dealers I have used at one time or other) do not just sell tanks, tanks are just a piece of their business. If they only sold tanks they would not be as big as they are.We here on the forum all have one thing in common that we like tanks, and I think we sometimes loose focus on the rest of the world and the hobby business. If you was to list the top selling hobby toys and on down to the bottom selling toy's,tanks would not be that high up on the list.We like them and we all are involved to different degrees in this hobby, thats why we are here.A lot of these tanks are being sold to the general public mostly for gifts to kids and adults as just toys to play with. Most who buy these for gifts for kids would not be able to tell you the difference from one tank to another, let alone scale and how accurate a hull is on a tank. All they know is they are tanks.Another factor is everyone who buys a tank does not just go join a forum and start talking about tanks, and this is true for any other hobby.I know a lot of people in the hobby game who don't have any interest in joining a forum to talk about their hobby's.
We are a special group of people here who enjoy tanks for many different reason's,we are not the normal average person walking down the street when it comes to "tanks".This can apply to just about anything people do in this great world we live in. ;D ;D ;D

one thing i dont is why people get all defensive over a supplier or manufacturer the bottom line is there all here to take your money

tonight i just bought a lower hull for my tiger from rctankde and there website was gonna charge me 109 euros for it all bought it from there E-bay store and saved myself £10
thats what i do and will always do (coz im a tight git)

i basically have no loyalties to anyone except my family and friends especially not those that are only after my hard earned £££s

so my advice is shop around and get the best for your circumstances whatever they are oh and enjoy the hobby
i know i am  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I  am a little different in this reguard.  I know Mato reinvest their money in tanks.  I know if they do well we well see more selection of tanks.  I want more tanks. The factory that produces Heng Long tanks is called Shantou Mato Plastic toy company.  You have to realize there is a connection there.
