The idea of a BB shooting range sounds excellent(my Tiger has a damn good BB gun fitted).

Could I make a suggestion though?

The idea of the fastest time and most hits is good, but would it be reasonable to have classes
such as light tank/standard gearboxes,light tank 3 to 1 gearboxes,etc?.

The reason I suggest this is because having "done" my Tiger's 'boxes,it moves far slower than
a Tiger still fitted with standard ratio gearboxes.
A tank with 3 to 1's(or even 4 to 1's)wouldn't be able to move up the range with the same
pace a standard 'boxed one could.

I know a good driver with a geared down machine could theoretically negotiate a course just as quickly as an average driver with a standard geared machine,I remember the days when I raced 1/10th off road buggies.
The one with the most horsepower but couldn't drive worth a shite certainly wasn't the one that always won,he did now and then, but not all the time :haha: :haha:

OZ thasts the sorta thing youll need to look into on the battling side to as some clubs have rules on what goes ie boxes and speeds and so forth
but we were thinking more of classes per tank

Dunno about fv,but what I meant was something like:

1/Light tank(standard gearbox)

2/Light tank(reduction 3 to 1 gearbox)

Say,upto 25 tons(Bulldogs,Pz's,etc)class

3/Medium tank(standard ''box)

4/Medium tank(reduction 3 to 1 'box)

Say,upto 45 tons (Panther,Jagdpanther,Sherman,T34,etc)class

5/Heavy tank(standard 'box)

6/Heavy tank(reduction 3 to 1 'box)

50 tons plus(Tiger 1,KV-1,King Tiger,Centurion,M1Abrams,etc)class

Whether you include metal running gear(track, suspension components,Asiatam hulls, etc)is upto you,but I think the gearboxes will be enough to decide the classes, otherwise it gets far too complicated.

Class winners could be decided on time and shot accuracy, the winner of each class goes
forward to the final "shoot off" where shooting accuracy alone decides the overall winner of the competition on the day.

How's that grab oz?
