Its looking great paul. I'm going to be using the Tamiya fine surface primer for my Tiger as well. Its great stuff, keeps all the detail crisp.

I can't wait to see this beast finished!

Hello Guy's,to be clear are you using the Tamiya metal primer on the sprockets and the fine self Etching surface primer on the Plastic surfaces? Both are gray in color? Don't mean to be a bother but I am making the change from Testors model master enamels to the Tamiya paints,and as you well know they can be expensive.My Tiger on the painting and weathering board was all Testors Enamel,then Oz suggested the change,so I am using Tamiya on my Jagdpanther. Hi Blake, i'm using Tamiya Fine Surface Primer on all surfaces, it works on plastic and metal, including photo-etch, and doesn't obscure detail. I've used generic brand car primer before as well which works fine, but is a tad thicker. At 1/16 scale it isn't much of a problem though, but I wouldn't recommend it on anything smaller or with a lot of tiny surface detail.

Thanks Rik,I have both kinds of the Tamiya primers,my Jagdpanther has been waiting since November for me to decide on the paint scheme,Their were only 14 Jagdpanthers ever assigned to the Grossdeutschland Division and the only in Dec.44 to the Fuhrer Grenadier Brigade,See all my tanks will be of a Grossdeutschland division Unit.Just decided when I got into armor a year and 3-months ago I purchased a book on Grossdeutschland and just decided to take that approach,maybe I am MAKING THINGS more difficult for myself but it's part of the challenge,the more common divisions are abundantly documented.Grossdeutschland had the highest kill ratio of any Tiger Unit on any front,they fought in the east the entire war.Only to surrender to the Allies and be handed back over to the Russians.That's why I think their is little photographic evidence of their units and Tanks.Well Rik I just could not say thank-you,I really wonder what you think about my approach? I like the challenge! It sounds like an interesting unit to try and replicate a vehicle from. My Tiger is similar, being from the absorbed Hummel company, there are few picture of the unit fighting with the 506th in the Ardennes, most of the come from the fighting around Arnhem during Market Garden. I've managed to gather what information I could from pictures, the rest is from written descriptions. I think you may have to do the same?

Paul, the camo scheme you've chosen is very good, how weathered do you intend on making it?
