Yeh they come in various sizes depending on the connectors and some make great mushroom vents for model ships lol

I tend to build with stuff around the house/hobby room/garage as well. I get more satisfaction coming up with a creative solution than ordering something.
Contact cement or some times wood glue for balsa airplanes (peels/cleans up similar to hot glue).

I used to enjoy coming up with my own solutions, but now that I'm older my time is worth more to me than money. I guess that's because there is less time and more money. Because there is more disposable income, I tend to buy more than scratch build.

No matter how I come up with the solution I'm plenty satisfied in the end.
I stopped using hot glue on anything tank related as I had it melt in the Texas heat.

Got fed up with the screw hole in the rear idlers
Had a look in my bits bobs box and found some fibre optic connector covers so used them
After painting them up and weathering them it looks a lot better
I might just nick that idea, thank you, for my Leopard.

Ok I decided to fit schurzen to it so i purchased these which duly arrived
About your JaPa, any plans adding Schürzen?
I did saw them out of aluminum with brackets out of brass.
But….if you want the easy way, on Ali Cool Bank offers a complete set of very thin, aluminum Schürzen with plastic hangers.
I do have another set from Cool Bank Schürzen on one of my Panzer IV‘s.
Nice alternative to home made stuff.

But wasnt happy how they just hung on the runners
so i used the aluminium bits to make templates

then thought how to mount them
i cut some 3mm square section then drilled them and temp fitted the schurzen but it was kind of skew wiff

so abandoned that and tried 3mm square section glued to hull lengthwise

- 1d.jpg (1 MiB) Viewed 281 times
i added little bits of 1.5mm plasticard to behind the screwholes as standoffs then drilled holes in the square section and screwed the shuzren on

I wanted a fairly robust way of mounting them but removable if needed and not falling off when run outside
so a tidy up and paint is next step

Where did you find the square drill bit?
Nice work so far, looking forward to seeing it with paint!
