I took you advice as well Herman and I'm currently looking for a good Heng long tank that i like to purchase as its between a Heng long leopard, panther or a Toro leopard but after my experience with the Toro king tiger i might just go with the Heng long stuff. The dilemma is that i don't have enough space for more things XD as i have like 3 rc cars I'm currently working on fixing including my brothers and one of my really old cars and the parts for them are scattered across my floor and you fixing the king tiger has finally given me the chance to fix the cars and ACTUALLY clean my room!

So I have the Torro Leopard and I love it, but (and I don’t know if stock HL is any better) the drive and traverse speed more closely resemble a WWII tank and not a modern tank. It’s soooo slow, but again, I don’t know if HL’s are any better. Apparently the Merkava traverse motor is fast out of the box?

Anyways, if you want the lower metal hull and paint job of the Torro but modern speed, what you can do, what I did to mine, is you can find a 550 motor/gearbox combo (AliExpress, DKLMRC) and mount that in the rear of the tank with minimal effort (I think you have to drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the tank, pretty minor compared to other stuff) and you can buy a faster metal gear box, or apparently the gearbox for the HL Merkava is also fast.

Additionally, for any Taigen/Torro tank if you want Airsoft and recoil, for a lot of them you can find HL barrel/mantlet/Airsoft as one piece usually on AliExpress, but sometimes on like rctank.de or Heng-long-panzer.de (licmas) and you can fit that on to your Torro tank with a tiny bit of rewiring (I think you can get away without soldering but you will need a crimper and some basic wiring tools). Then you’ll have Airsoft AND recoil, and if you want to further upgrade your recoil to a servo based recoil, you have that option as the barrel is not fixed in place as it is in Taigen/Torro Airsoft tanks.

That may be more work than you’re up for, but I really really like the quality of Taigen/Torro over HL.

Here is a video of said Leopard with the aforementioned upgrades and an ElMod MFU instead of the stock Taigen V3 MFU. You can still do everything I mentioned above with the stock V3, the ElMod is not necessary to do any of that.

The issue is still that i don't have anything required to paint the tank nor do i have a soldering iron or anything....... What came with the tank is all i have.

A barrel smoke breakthrough................of sorts.
I looked at many sets of instructions for this thing and pictures show an MFU with 2 smoke power sockets in it on the very last page.
The MFU in this tank does not have 2 power sockets, only one. I do not know why this is, but it is.
So, you can have the exhaust smoke working when its plugged in, or, (not and) the stray JST plug under the turret ring is power for the turret mounted barrel smoke unit.
Controlled off the same switch (right hand side) of the Tx. Take one out-put the other in.
Turned it on, turned on the BB safety switch, wait, fired, got smoke out the barrel and a BB so it does work.
I did have to add fluid into the fill tube.
The filler tube is tucked back into the rear turret hatch, but I did leave the switch for it(hiding under the turret drive ring) -in the on position.
The BB safety switch is in the off position.

Please understand Mr Crusher that smokers in all our models are fickle and work until they dont. :/ most of us dont like or use them.
I am now satisfied that this Torro works as it should, apart from the original Tx having a busted starter switch that I still need to sort out for you.

The gearbox (s) work well and it has been trimmed to run straight. (that black knob on the Tx is the trim.)

I am off to Port Macquarrie on Thursday with the family & its 238kms from Maitland, if you want to come & get it, I will take it with me.
If not, I will see about the broken Tx switch & post it back once its sorted after I get back.

P.S, the silver you have put on it is not my vibe, but its not my Tank !! ;)

It works mate, it works

Thank you soooooo much, it is probbaly easier for it to be posted. But im wondering will i just need to buy a board with 2 power sockets, 1 for the smoke from the barrel and 1 for engine?

I found the recoil unit that comes with everything i want to buy! yet still the issue..... i have no paint and no idea what im doing XD. And from what Bix said i may need another MFU with both the power slots unless my par's old solder thingy works XD. Either way i will see how much a NORMAL mfu is. Thank you!
