Thanks for all the positive views !
And MikeN, yes definetly the Maltese wall / block pattern. Will test my finishing skills as I usual rush to get on with the next project.
One thing on my long list of things is to find the correct colours for the scheme and who’s paint to then use.
Any feedback appreciated.
Next instalment will hopefully all together and running !
Until then
Dave
1:6 Vickers Light Tank MKVI
Re: 1:6 Vickers Light Tank MKVI
Quick update.
Getting the turret up to scratch has been slow, but there are lots of 'bits and pieces' that always take a lot of spare time. Seemed to have to get a new stock of rivets in but then after the 400th - 1/16 rivet / 3/64 rivet / 10 BA screw on the turret alone, I decided to stop counting
!.
Now onto radio etc .....
Have decided that my old 27mHz radio gear, old nicads, and home made speed controllers belong in a museum, so its a trip to the model shop to get one of those new fancy, programable RC transmitter and receiver combos - will be fun and no doubt expense when I buy all of the LiPo's, chargers and add on goodies !
Till next time, keep building and playing - you are never to old to be a big kid ......
Cheers
Dave

Re: 1:6 Vickers Light Tank MKVI
hi all,
Wishing a Happy and peaceful new year to everyone.
Been a busy autumn and now only just getting back to finishing my wee beastie.
Have fitted radio, drives, batteries etc and had many runs around the garden chasing my brothers cat who seemed to be fascinated by it !
Speed is about right and have tons of torque for climbing etc. Will do a video when I complete the painting - which I have been putting off .....
Having never really done weathering etc (opposite of the showroom finish try to get on my steam models haha) was having sleepless nights deciding whether to have a go or leave in primer and start next model - in end, wifey 'encouraged' me (not nagging, honestly hahah) to shut up and buy a compressor and airbrush and just get it done.
Took the plunge yesterday and airbrushed the base colour using AK real colours Lite Stone all over - slowwwwww even with a 0.5mm nozzle,
Just hope don't mess up when doing the pointing pattern and the weathering..
Wish me look

Re: 1:6 Vickers Light Tank MKVI
There's so much to admire in your Vickers! It's great to see the updates, and I don't think you are even half as slow as me.
"Slowwwwww even with a 0.5mm nozzle." Yes, getting the compressor and airbrush was a smart move. And yes, too, I used a 0.3mm nozzle on my Paasche H for a long time until it occurred to me to get a set of variously-sized nozzles. What caused me to get the idea? ...A 1/16 Sturmtiger that needed to go from incorrect Dunkelgrau to Dunkelgelb. Dat's salda paint!
