I run a nut down before chopping, removing the nut after chopping straightens the threads (usually).

I to plan a build thread with mine but I intend a British one. But I can’t start mine till August as I won’t see the guys at Armageddon till then when we are both displaying at the same show

I don't think your question ever got answered. Or in your first paragraph perhaps you did answer, but just in case...

The holes nearest to the pivot point are the thread cutters. These are the ones from the hobby room, there are others out in the shop. But all of mine are SAE, I do need to order a metric pair.

Yes, I use them all the time now that I know what they do. Still can't believe I didn't know their true function for all those years!

Oh I understand that. Last year I learned that real electricians use those little holes just outside the cutter on the two middle pair to bend the "J" hook/hoop for terminal connections on outlets and switches.

Dang! Another feature I didn't know about. I am pretty much qualified now to fully electrocute myself!
