Not used to seeing these with a muzzle brake fitted 1

Ralf, I have a question for you and any others who might be able to answer. I have seen the gun cleaning rods just as you have them, all wood with small fasteners at the ends.

I have also seen them with what appear to be metal end caps, again for fastening lengths of cleaning rods together. Were both types used?
