I finally worked out all the angles and here's the chassis with motors and steering, including the differential steering on the second axle.

separate motors for the rear and steering axles

still some fine tuning and stronger servo arm needed for the steering. I noted the need to minimise stress on the servo so instead of using a pivot bar, I decided to use the servo arm as the pivot.

Now I just need to fasten it all together securely and when my ordered esc arrives I can then test it.

Wayne as soon as I have debugged the designs and got it all working and looking sensible then you can most certainly have a set of stls. :D

Very neat and compact. I do hope those N20's last better than every one i have tried though.
The steering setup looks real neat.
Great work

Hi Will, can you recommend anything more robust that's about the same size, or maybe slightly larger - space is very limited as you can see?

There’s a N30 which is the same as a N20, but 10mm longer - it’s got much more torque.

There are also 180 sized motors that have round reduction gearboxes attached - I’ll see if I can find some links...

Thanks Jimbo, I'll check and see what N30s there are.

Thanks Will, do they run ok at lower voltage e.g. 7v as provided by esc?
