Late reply, If the Wehrmacht were anything like most military units/Airforce Squadrons, they'd have the odd 'Hangar Queen' taken out of service for something semi major, then robbed of bits to keep others rolling. I can quite easily believe Herman's scenario of such a hull stripped of roadwheels, turret box and more, then at last knockings the factory parts bin gets robbed, lobbed on all remaining hulls willy nilly, loaded with bodies and ammo and pointed East or West as appropriate...
