Single colour paint jobs are very difficult to get right, but yours is top notch.

Thank you very much.
Just in between coats of Klear varnish and it looks very different today, gone very dark. But at least it is sealed and the matt varnish should hopefully bring it back.

Hi guys.
Managed to get some more done this weekend.
I lightened it back up a little by dusting over with a mix of olive drab and a drop of white.I thinned this down with a ratio of about 10% paint to 90% thinner, and just kept going over it till I was happy. It has also toned down the stars which I think were too stark white before.

A friend of mine came round last night with his oil paints for me to try out.
I have never attempted oil washes before and it's amazing how the paint runs into all the deeper parts when thinned a lot.I have exerience of acrylics painting Warhammer models and have never had an acryilic wash act so nicely as the oils.
Anyway it's a bit new to me and I may have gotten slightly carried away and over done it.
It sure looks a little dirty now!

The nose has also had a wash of Tamiya khaki extremely thinned, then some oils on top.Possibly should have done this to the rest of the tank too,but I was eager to try the oils and forgot,DOH!
Still, should still be ok to do this when the ois have dried.

Got to say that I panicked a little after gloss coating it because it turned so dark, now I am fairly happy with the way it is going. The oils have darkened again slightly more but I am confident that some washes of lighter colours and more light coloured dusting will lighten it back up later.
Cheers.
Steve.

She's a beauty Steve! I love the weathering effects. The oils make it look like its been in a storm. Very moody.  ;D Your painting skills are fantastic!
Cheers,
Rik
