Could you use the aluminum one as a template and then make them out of thin steel like a sardine can lid much easier to form.... Just a thought. Or thin sheet brass..

Just a quick update.
Ended up making the exhaust shrouds out of aluminium, and I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. :D the only problem is that the the metal is quite brittle, so making nice crisp folds in it was a challenge. But all's well that ends well as they say. ;) c.rainford73 , sardine tin lids would be good, but they are not big enough, thanks for the suggestion anyway. here's some photos.

They still need to be cleaned up as the edges are quite sharp.
Any suggestions/ criticism is quit welcome.

Top job. I have a load of ali sheet roofers use to flash over joints, and I was intending to make guards out of it.

hi everyone,
my tiger is finally finished. I haven't posted anything in months due to having nowhere to host pictures on after the photo bucket Incident :( however I have found a new site called imgbb which works in a similar way to photobucket.
Here is a picture of my tiger prior to the application of the turret numbers.
Image
The numbers were airbrushed on using home made stencils. These were made by printing the numbers in reverse on the paper backing of some clear book covering contact then cutting them out.
Image
The construction of the Fiefel filters and exhaust shrouds have been detailed earlier in this thread. Here is a shot of them in all their painted glory. Other details have been added to the rear plate such as the spare tracks and Jack clamps.
Image
And finally a shot from the front showing off the headlight stands and the mud flaps typical of spzabt 501 tigers.

Hope you enjoy

What a great build, and a lot of research to get the small but important details right,
Like the reversed Tow ropes and the twin pistol ports and no escape hatch on the turret and the support straps holding the turret bin in place,
The detail on the front fender and the curve of it is a delight,
I made my early Tunisian Tiger 1s exhaust shrouds from the "ABER" Exhaust Brass Photo Etch sheet but I made a wooden buck to the pattern of the early pattern exhaust from photographs and with a butane torch and a little tapping it made a very pleasing shape,
I modelled mine on "813" which meant making up a pair of the flat rounded rear fenders and I left the rear spare tracks off so that the highly detailed (With Chain) starting handle freely swinging in its clamps could better impress the viewer, (So far no one has noticed or made any comment :( )as well as the fully detailed tow hook.(I made the Pintle Pin from a piece of metal coat hanger),
Nice to see that you weren't deceived into fitting the front step and hand grip that "131" has on its front.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
