A master class in timber frame construction.

Before I come to my locking mechanism for the doors first a little adjustment for the roof. At the roof were at all four corners a little wood strip mounted; this as lead while installing and otherwise also as lock for the roof part.



Here once a closer view…

Now to the locking mechanism for my doors. One door wing should receive a door lock plate and the other wing receive the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism should be operable from both sides. Normally of course only from inside but at my model also from outside…
At first were three of these wood parts for each side produced…



…and two of them with a little distance to the crossbars glued to the right door wing. The adjusted ice cream handle will later be the sliding tongue,…



…for that receive the door wing a little slit and the tongue a continuous handle.



At the other door wing were also glued one of these wooden parts.



Now I needed the lock for the left wing. These parts were made from remains of a copper sheet, first both base plates…



…and then also the holding bows for the sliding latch.



Both were soldered together, the tongue receives also a lock from a little copper rivet and finished were they…



…both door lockings.



More to that theme in the next part.

Incredible work The realism is uncanny in some pictures I have to take a second look to realise its a smaller scale building

Good morning Carl and many thanks. Always nice to see, that some People do like my work.

A little thing I've forgot to describe. At both sides behind the doors were between the first both ceiling beams a wood floor mounted. So it's later possible to place here a farmer or sometimes also a sniper.

Its that real mate..............you want to watch out in case you end up with several families of refugees trying to live in it !

It goes on at the point where I’ve last time ended; at the door locking mechanism. For the door lock was a little groove made, where he then engages.



For the door lock mounting himself receive the wood a little notch. Then were both with little nails fastened. Here always mounted and still open…



…and here in closed state.





In the door area around the slits were two little stiffening’s glued, also from old ice handles. A closer view…

…and here in closed state. Each the right wing receives also a board as cover for the gap between both door wings.



So many to this part.

At the roof part it goes on; the roof formwork will be applied. Used was 3 mm thick bars, which also arises from an old thick board. Began was at the roof from my annex;…



…here already finished.





Continued was at the main roof.



The boards from the roof formwork were nailed and additional glued.



Also at the counter side was the roof formwork installed.



Branch holes I‘ve ignored; my later installed roof skin will cover these holes and is also strong enough, in order to make not a hole in the roof.





The roof formwork is finished;…





…now has my roof a good stability. The weight is only a bit higher. Maybe I will weight the parts later; this is also for me interesting…



So far for today…

This build just gets more awesome by the minute! If you were building houses in the UK to this standard you would have a long queue of customers because the stuff they are building here these days has the quality and durability of very cheap shoe boxes.

many thanks for your kindly words. But I think in the UK are also good modellers at home...
Everybody needs a vision...
I'm a member of a little group from tank friends in Berlin. We have since the beginning of this year a new terrain to build us there our new battleground. It's still a long way, but we are on a good way. To a nice battleground belong also nice buildings - they should become the highlights of our terrain.
And shoe boxes are not corresponding with our imaginations...
