Anyway now I can get on with some real work on the upper hull.

Great job on the louvres - that kind of work is a pain in the butt to get done straight unless you can find a cheat.

There is a trick but it took a few wasted pieces to get the angles right, I cut all the pieces to size, then clamped them together and cut the slots half way through them all so they were identical with the razor saw. The horizontal pieces were straightforward as it is a simple 90 degree cut, but the vertical pieces took 3 attempts before I got the angle and separation right. Fiddly work anyway but it came out ok.

Thanks for the good word guys, I managed to get some real work done today.
Built the drivers cupola and finished the major work on the upper hull.

Now it's down to detailed work and small finishes. I have taken a good look at the 88mm gun and decided I'm not trying to make that out of styrene, I'll wait until I have my 3d printer which will only be when I get back from my imminent Spain trip (yahoo Benidorm here I come - plus other more sedate places!!! )
The upper hull build went smoother than I thought and the detailing shouldn't be too bad, the tricky bit is the gun plus all the electronics for elevate, slew, and recoil, but that will have to wait until December. One thing I really want to do with this one though is put in an IBU2 so I can get the correct noise and function. At least with this build (unlike the M7) I have plenty of space for the battery and electronics.

Tidied up a couple of things on the chassis including rear tow hooks, exhaust, and winch bar, and gave it a coat of paint in the correct colour for my camo job. It's quite surprising what a difference just putting a few coats of paint on the chassis makes to the look of the tank.
