Jack!
This all looks sweet! How do you like your G4? Those things are awesome, eh? ;o) It *looks* like Rommel so I dunno if I would mess too much with it. Uniform insignias look good from what I can see.

Painless

Looking good. I especially like the Maybach. Is that an Indiana Jones Motorcycle? I have one of those, but got it used with no figure. I think it's kinda big for 1/18, closer to 1/16, but that's a good thing. Next to my 1/18 US Army Harleys the BMW looks huge.

Yup Indian Jones motorcycle, it's supposed to be German so I couldn't tell you.
Yeah the Maybach is real pretty! This weekend all 3 are getting waxed and buffed out. The wax will help keep the finger prints down and hopefully the dust too. The wax will also get rid of the smudges off the paint.

Cool collection! I was just looking at those G4s on ebay; is the quality good on them up close? (as if I need any more 1/18th cars here.... LOL)

The G4 is very nice! However the 3 figures it comes with are very cheap and the driver is the size of a child, no way even 1:18 scale.
Buy it for the car, not the figures.
Oh and it comes in a great box that I'm actually going to keep and not throw out.

Jack,
I agree about the figures on the G4. I think one of them has Hitler's face, ( the shorter one ) They will be getting a repaint when time allows. The car is extreme! and well worth the price. *chuckles* I kept the box as well. ;o)

Jack and Painless, In common with just about everyone else on the Forum I think you are the epitomy of all the good things we Brits have come to think of as AMERICAN,
BUT
My lady mentioned in passing that I was grinding my teeth
Well if one or both of you stalwarts could mention the website/s where these automobiles can be found I might just be able to retain the unblemished finish on my molars.
Shaun.

Shaun, absolutely my friend....eBay. Got them all off eBay. If you need links I'll be happy to post them for you. I'm sure if you check eBay UK you could probably get them and not get screwed on the shipping as all 3 of mine came from California.

Painless I haven't looked at them closely enough to tell you if it looks like Hitler, not sure how I feel about it if he does.

Jack thank you for the heads up.
I have been spending the last hour and a half just skimming through pages of E-BAY I never knew existed,
A proper search could take days but I was struck by the difference in prices for the same vehicle,
A Citroen Traction Avant 1/18 (1938) £ 29.00 From France including Freepost, and the same scale and model and same maker but year 1952 £ 55.60 including postage from Germany,
As the German armed forces used the Traction Avant during the last unpleasantness the cheaper correct date model has a greater appeal, but it shows how worth while going past the model of your choice is as well as reading the small print can be.
I think its called shopping, But what would I know ? I just carry the bags out to the car,
Shaun.
