Herman,
I think that you and your parts would be safe ( like they were the first time ) ;o)

I thought I would get that one in on behalf of ........... He would have swooped in it like a seagull on a chip.
Got the 2.4 system installed & tested, made splash girds up for the gearboxes but there is no room to pass even a thin sheet over them under the upper hull.
Clearance is so tight that HL have milled slots to allow the gears to sit high & not foul the trans cover.

Herman, *chuckles* I hear you,
As far as motor clearances go, how about a pair of those new, low profile Taigen gearboxes and motors? Like the ones I put in the early StuG B I built last year. They should leave you a lot of vertical height space as well as having strong motors and black steel gears?

Painless

I assume they would work, to late for me though.
The gearbox frames are why the slots are milled, but to add splash guards over them for the lube is contained means the slots are interfered with.
Its not the end of the world, at least I have hatches to add lube through when required, but I anticipate a bit of seepage over time.
To bad ! it might add to the realism

G'day gents, I've had a bit of a tune up done on my "casio-calculator"

so I'm able to load pictures, for now anyway.
Been a bit of progress, but not as much as I would have liked.
All the hatches are secure, added a bit of guard damage, loaded the 2.4G brains into it and can now get on with it.
Seems like this one is stubborn.

Herman Have you thought about a bulkhead between the Gears and the Control board ?
Just a sized piece of plasticard and some plastic channel for the bulkhead to slide down.
A hole in the bulkhead large enough to take the cable from the motors to the board,
I use channel from a Panzer 4 radio stowage track, You only need a small piece glued onto each side of the hull, just enough to provide a guide for the bulkhead,
Glue the Channel DON'T Glue the Bulkhead.
This will stop the gearbox lube from ruining the electrics and the real thing would certainly display some external oil smears.
Shaun.

Herman,
Good morning, the work is really paying off there. I like the Pz IV and this is going to be a grand example of the type. Good idea with the hull brace and nicely executed. Overall, it's always in the details and this one is rich in those.

I did put a section in behind the gears, but it won't be enough to prevent all the spatter. Once it runs for a bit the bull will end up where it ends up, any extra lube will have to be sparing as possible.

Me too mate. The Africa Korps yellow with cam stripes will be a challenge to get right for sure.
I still have to sort out the running gear.
The metal wheels are real sloppy on the new suspension and the return rollers are incorrect.
PZ III rollers would do, but I would need to buy two sets to get the 8 I need.
Oh well, all part of the fun !!
