Sorry I took so long to reply. The BM jeeps would be pretty hard to rc as the things are for the most part metal. You obviously got one without the canvas top piece and it looks from your pic that the drivers mirror is missing. That would explain the low price you got it at (along with no factory box or the original ownership papers). The 50 cal mount is kind of a nuisance but looks better if a 30 cal is put on it. To make a lot of jeeps in different configurations it must be removed and it is held on by more then the lower legs that are plastic ,usually glue at 2 points on the floor. A hard to reach screw that holds the main post down that you can't see unless you disassemble the jeep must be removed. On all but two of mine I've drilled a hole thru the visible bottom square frame stiffener of the jeep below the center where the 50 cal is located ( driveshaft is very near and care must be taken not to break it off) so the tiny the screw is visible enough to be removed and the whole 50 cal pedestal can be removed leaving just a tiny hole in the floorboard.
If you can find ones that are missing or have a lot of broken parts they can usually be had very cheaply and can make excellent starting points to make jeep wrecks that make interesting backroad pieces.
Here are some pics of some of mine. The first one shows where the screw for the 50 pedestal is.

Very nice looking jeeps, Greengiant. That first one I got was missing more than the top.
I picked up two more, one fair and one they claimed as new (we'll know for sure tomorrow) and they were more in keeping with what they usually go for at just under a C Note each including shipping. Both were buy-it-now items that I caught as soon as they came up. There's a very nice one ending in a couple hours that was at $83 the last time I looked, and if it can be had for under $125 I'd say it's a good deal. This is the only photo I have of the one that's still coming, it was labeled "new" on ebay and I paid $87.45 including shipping. I guess in a way it was a gamble but with ebay's protection and paypal I know the very worst that can happen is that it will be a hassle and take a month or two to get my money back.
That's a great idea about the .30 cal, and it brought to mind my Grandpa (he drove one in the army) telling me how they usually had a .30 mounted, not a .50, and he blamed Rat patrol for people getting it wrong. Why Rat Patrol I have no idea, but that was the theory. I'm sure at least two of these will end up as static display pieces out in the allied camp, but I think I can RC one of them. We'll see when the crawler gets here. If the new one is nice enough I might just leave it in the box for now. I saw just one mint jeep recently that had an opening bid of $179 and it sold for that, but it was still in the plastic wrappers.

OK, I found this
so I could use the one you found
to do one in the correct scale, but the tires may be a problem. Not exactly stock on the Type 82E Staffcar.
And then if we want to get really crazy, we could camo one of these!
and that one I could probably even RC, just for kix. They're not really that hard to find on ebay, but they can be rather pricey. The Bug can bring a buck and a half, and I've seen the bus at $80, and of course there's also the dreaded shipping monster that must be fed.
What if I just set the Bug body on the crawler chassis and use the big tires, kinda like a monster-truck-beetle? Too much? A prototype, maybe? Hang a couple MG42s on the sides in pods? Can you see the Bug on this frame and tires? Too much?

Boy...you found some with Huge Photos

...........
Actually saw this last night and took a browse through EBAY...You're right

...Seems right now they are pretty scarce....before Christmas there were a dozen or so...Lowest I remember was 60 buy it now...but that one is gone....Just be patient though Max...they should start appearing again ..probably by summer
Wheels shouldn't be problem...For one thing..you have Jeeps you could rob lol...but I found 1/18th mutts for cheap..the wheels are about the same size

That one looks almost complete but is it missing the mirror or was it broken off but in the box. The owners title is one piece of paper that will usually raise the bidding for someone who is trying to get a collectors piece as will the ad for the missile tube model offer that are very rarely seen. There was even a special run made with Airborne decals that is extremely rare.
Looks like you are getting some good deals even if some of the plastic pieces are broken off the body they can be handmade and replaced.
It is a fascinating model to detail with almost endless possibilities. I only quite bidding on them because I have no place to put anymore but would still like to get one to do up as a stretcher carrier at the very least.
Someone may try to rc one I see in one of the forums and he has gotten a lot of advise from members about possible parts to use but making a working suspension and 4x4 seems to be one big problem.
