I dont really have that big of a problem with wobbly arms. Had a few on the Pz IV, but sorted them with a washer here and there.

Anyways... I seem to have quite a big zigsaw puzzle to figure out with that gunmount and recoil unit. None of the parts will fit together properly without some major modification. I think the easiest step, would be to just glue the original gun mount into the gun shield and cut it flush with the back of the gun shield. Fill the space around it and with the rear of the shield flat, I can just follow what Painless did to his Stug III. Why invent, what have already been invented, right :)
As far as I can see, the interior body is exactly the same, except for the cupola in the IV taking a bit more space than the flat hatches in the III, so doing what Painless did, shouldnt be too much of a problem...I hope

Have tried lining up the pieces, to get an idea of my options though... Have to make some weird cuts all around, if I really want the parts fitted together...

Arnie, good evening,
You are doing a better job of it right off the bat than I did. I had to remember that up was really down and right was left when I was making up the mounts for the back of the mantlet. ;o)
Following along!
regards
Painless

Hehe thanks Painless...although, I have been turning them around a few times already ;)

But I think I will leave this for tomorrow (Right now its 03:50 in the morning) and go at it, with a clear head :)

Whew that's tight .... 8O ...have you thought about cutting into the backing of the mantlet where that wall is flat?...counter grind two dovetails to fit those gun holders...just the round part with the holes...or make new metal brackets that can be screwed on for easy removal...screw points could be fabricated and put on each side
I can try and sketch the idea out on paper if you like ;)

By the way Arnie...before you go hacking into things...one other option...though I'm not sure what it might take to make the thing work...the Tamiya Recoil unit
Image
it is much smaller than the Taigen....I actually think it is the smallest so far....most of the members use it...but they run different electrics ...Thus different plug ins

Please do Alpha. Would like to see a drawing from you :)
Cutting the wall have been on my mind as well, but I think the integrity of the hull would suffer, if I remove it...

And I think Tamiya is out of the question

My premonitions is holding true again (Must be psychic :P )

Package from Asiatam just arrived, while package from Forgebear havent left the UK yet (but almost :) )

Missing 3 track links and some plastic s-shackles (they sent me the side ladder for the Pz IV instead). Have sent Asiatam a message about this. Lets see what they have to say...

Oh this is going to work just fine! :D
Only need to do very little modification to the mount and it will align just perfect, with the gunner periscope.

This thing, is the best idea ever! Thanks Alpha :D
