Re: Updates to my Early Tiger I
Wow they look great good job. I bet your well pleased with them. Love the convoy lighting and all the details you have achieved. Pitty you are not a little closer we could of had a tank bashing session lol.
Re: Updates to my Early Tiger I
Well Southampton is not so very far away for me. I was in South Wales for a tank meet a couple of weeks ago, so you never know

Careful Richy... going to the meets there means changing out all your electricals

I also attended that particular meeting and I'm certain no one was asked or told to change any of there "electricals".
In fact we had a good diversity of systems running and undergoing trials that weekend, we ran
TAMIYA
IBU
CLARK
DBC
DBC/TAMIYA HYBRID
So as you can imagine I am more than a little flummoxed

ALPHA, care to expand on the "going to meets there means changing out all your electricals" statement.

I believe we had an H/L 2.7Ghz equipped dozer, and at least 1 Taigen 2.4Ghz equipped tank too. As a group we run anything and everything, stock and custom set ups.
Re: Updates to my Early Tiger I
Hey Tankman.... I was just under the impression ... that since the majority of you run aftermarket set ups... A Heng Long even with IR wouldn't be compatible to mix into any battling action... though I'm sure you have members who do run stock unitstankman wrote: Hi ALPHA, care to expand on the "going to meets there means changing out all your electricals" statement.

Greets Scalawag.... I'm actually not aware of what Richy is running in his Tiger.... But if he wanted to battle ...wouldn't he have to change to some IR unit that everyone else is using? It's just that I recall reading awhile back that Stock IR units that are installed is not what everyone else usesscalawag wrote:

Re: Updates to my Early Tiger I
We do use Tamiya as the standard IR battling system purely because we have to have some standard for all our tanks to battle with one another and Tamiya is the oldest and most used worldwide, however this is only one aspect of our group.ALPHA wrote:Greets Scalawag.... To assume that we are just interested in IR battles would be incorrect.

Personally, whilst I do enjoy battling I am far more interested in driving my tanks with some degree of historical accuracy, which actually makes most of my tanks not so good for battling as they are heavy and a bit slow.

We have no restrictions on what people run at all and everything is welcome. If you enjoy turning up with a stock H/L setup and trundle around the battlefield we have set up that is fine, and we won't be battling non stop.
If you want to try out battling we can sort out a tank for you to try it and see if it is for you, and if it is, then it does not need to cost a fortune to equip a standard H/L or Taigen set up with an add on tamiya compatible battle system. We will even help you out with setting it up

Once people have seen the benefits of the aftermarket systems though not many stay with stock set ups.
