60 KILOS??????????? ...Actually thought it was heavier :haha: ...That's some weight to haul up three floors 8O ...like moving a fridge ;)

Tank still looks great lposter... and that box...pat yourself on the back...it's an outstanding job

Iposter,
The KV-2 is looking better and better with the new ride height and full on primer. I don't envy you carrying that ( beautifully built ) crate up and down three flights of stairs but it must be done for running fun!
Take care and keep up the pics and good work!

With the right battery and internals it could drive up the three flights 8O 8O 8O
And kick the bloody door in when it gets there :haha: :haha:

I have only just seen this build, what can I say that hasn't been said already, it is a credit to your skills. Just unbelievably good.

The only comment I can make is re the Beier Card. I am not aware of anyone using an RF enclosure on any RC tank electronics, so you may be ok. The only way to find out is to rig it up and test it, though as you already know it pays to mount these components as far away from the motors as possible.

Good to see you back in the saddle Lposter  ...sounds like the year is treating you well so far
I don't have much to throw in as far as to the questions you have

But maybe a suggestion....that sound board doesn't look that big....have you given any thought to mounting it in the Turret 8O
I would imagine there is a lot of space in there...as even on my 1/16th version there is quite a bit of air ;)
If it could fit inside your turret...you won't incur interference from any magnetic flux that could be emitted from those monster motors :D

The turret has indeed a wealth of vacant space in there....... and Im at a loss as to how to use it, mostly with respect to the connection between it and the hull.

The centre of the turret floor is pretty much occupied with the turret motor (from beneath) and a large bearing so putting a hole down through the centre is pretty much out of the question.

A hole offset from teh centre and down into the hull is going to be tricky as the alignment will dissappear upon turning and Im thinking thats going to play havoc with any wires going between turret interior and hull.

Its a shame as there really is a lot of wasted space in it. If I had been more clever I would have used some kind of HL type turret arrangement but positioning of the motor underneath at a position off to the side was not working out for me (because of the position of the battery).

This is the problem with the rear wheel drive of teh KV. The awkward space under the front glacis which would be occupied normally by motors and gearboxes isnt really used in teh KV and its a bit of a tight space up front for anything else.

I was thinking of a smoker in the upfront space but Im now of the opinion that a smoker is pointless because:

1. The top of the tank is hard to get off. Therefore some kind of filling mechanism would be required that doesnt need taking the top off.

2. To avoid killing the smoker I would need some kind of level indicator for the smoke fluid and I dont see how that can be achieved. A float switch would be the best I could come up with and I aint even sure about that.

3. The distance between smoker and exhausts would be probably a foot and a half or so. Condensation of the smoke fluid along the lines could easily become a problem.

Its always the small things at the end of a build that become major stumbling blocks......

p
I totally agree... especially with the foundation you used....I have similar issues with my L70...sorting things out and making things fit is challenging to say the least ...
Sounds like your Turret is totally sealed off..is that correct?....all it would take really is a small hole for a wire or two...another idea might be to put everything that has to do with the sound in the turret...meaning board speaker and all ..if there is enough room ;)

Making a filler tube for your smoker should be easy ..I did it on my Jagd the top wasn't too much of a problem to camo as it was just a flat plug that went into it ...not sure exactly how large your homemade smoker is ...but have you given any thought to mounting it directly under the exhaust outlets? that way you need not deal with hoses and perhaps the exhausts would provide a place to load fluid into

Some things to think about...hope you get it sorted...it will be awesome to see this beast finally tear up some turf

Good Afternoon,
It's really good to see your continuing progress. The scale is huge and a lot of paint is just a needed thing. You seem to be getting on with it so I encourage you to think ahead to completing it and how utterly cool it will be to display and run. A one of a kind thing.
