Man!, you guys are too much. ;o) Thanks for that unforgettable mental image, Pale. Alpha, yeah, the 76mm on Joe's M4A1 has been problematical since day one. This new turret will solve a couple of issues, both on Joe's Sherman and the new M4A3. Cody, indeed, Dave at Forgebear knows how to ship stuff right!

61st Day: Not much going on today. I am looking forward to the weekend to get some real progress made. I did get some brass stock for the Pack railing on the turret and some flat stock to make straps\hooks to hang the packs with from Hobbytown. Tank wise, I painted the two large crates with a flat brown dry brush and accent wash and was very pleased again with the result. You cannot beat a Forum full of knowledgeable folks for picking up tips and learning new ways to do things. Pics:

Scalawag, that is correct, Sir! I will have it installed this weekend. I need to get off the fence about the smoke mortar as well. Some later tanks had an extension tube with cap and chain arrangement added. It was not extensive in use and I could see it being a problem under fire if it had to be removed from the Loader's hatch. (looks kind of odd too) I also need to finish sanding down the firing LED on the gun shield and fashion a cover for it. Getting close to completion. ;o)

Do you mean the armored periscope cover? Simple enough, I needed a new gun for Joe's M4A1 and getting the spare turret solved multiple problems. ;o) Including the periscope cover. I do try to keep the K.I.S.S. principle in mind while working on these builds, especially complicated ones like this Sherman turned into.

Ah excellent foresight... taking care of many birds with one stone

paroosing over your brass stock purchase the thought of more rounds did enter my mind... I'd say you'd have enough for about 40,000 rounds ..the silver lining is you could start a distribution center
