Thanks lads, it sure was ambitious but it turned out close to what I hoped.
I can also assure you that doing a battery change or charge is a royal pain !!

Kind of, had a steel gear box fail on the left side after a hard run.
Got to have a mother load of Jack Daniels in me to bring myself to risk all the detail to get the failed box out & put new ones in.
Taigen Black steel...............still smoked a final drive pinion(by the feel of the loose output shaft.)

I will get it fixed, but only after I have no projects sitting on the go.

The Panther is rather intact, does anyone have plan to restore it?

No lads , it's a very old image , and it has been restored.
The point was the side brackets Herman modelled his on , very rare.

Don't you just hate it when one of the company vehicles ain't working !

And I saw & touched an actual real fitting in San Francisco in 2013 at Mr Littlefields museum.
When you touch things that are portals into an era gone by it just sends a charge through you.

Yes, this tank, and the fittings it was fitted with was inspiring.

I feel sorry for the German pensioner who had this pristine looking Panther confiscated, on the spurious grounds that it was not 'fully deactivated'. It was no secret that it had been at his home for decades, so why had it not been confiscated prior to 2015? I can imagine he came out with a few choice expletives. He also owned an 88 mm anti-aircraft gun! Presumably- as this too was confiscated- it was also deemed 'insufficiently deactivated'. I mean..who's going to rob a shop, or settle a gang feud with one of those?
