Good Afternoon!
Worked on mating the Upper to the Lower using the rare earth magnets I had located, last night. A lot of careful measurements and trimming back the screw mount pillars on the Upper were done. I used a hand held Dremel for the cutting. Cleanup was files and sandpaper. Loc-Tite Extreme was used to glue on the Lower magnets at 8 positions. The magnets for the Upper were just dropped onto Lower ones to use for final measurement and any shimming needed today. Verifying the adhesive was completely set, I shimmed the four central mounts and then ended up using the Dremel Torch to heat and straighten the back of the Upper to sit securely in the molded plastic mounts on the Lower. I finished up today by trimming out the rotation ring and touching up the paint. Setting everything aside to dry, I left it alone. Once I can put it together and test, I will do the Pin Wash and Flats.

Painless

Good Morning, Herr Dr. Prof.
The King Tiger is back together, tested and working! I use all sorts of organizers when working on a Build. That one worked great for separating the screws and connectors for this Tank by location and use. Today I am outside doing a different type of rattlecan painting. (500 Gallon Propane Tank) Tomorrow, I should be able to sit down and do the Flats and Pinwash + Tamiya Kits to do the minimal weathering on this King Tiger.

Jeez Mr Wolf, even that Propane tank is pristine like your models !!!
I thought for a second you might be testing a weathering & damage technique :haha: :haha:

Herman!
Thanks for looking in! The Brown spots on the Propane Tank are a Rustoleum primer the same as used on the Panzers. The Offwhite is an exterior enamel that contains a primer. Took 5 tall cans of Rustoleum to spray the Tank to my satisfaction. Should last another decade before the next repaint.

With the brown spots on the LP tank, Painless, it's a wonder someone didn't mistake it for a Brown Swiss and try to milk it.

Good Morning!
As a Wise Man once said: " Droll, Barney...Very Droll." :0) Around here, Herr Dr., anything is possible. Since we live in 'Cattle Mutilation' country, Aliens could have tried to ferret it away leading to a Shattering Wake Up Call!

Good Afternoon,
I have had time over the last few evenings to work on the subtle weathering that I wanted. This is a brand new Panzer fresh off a rail car and driven over night for a few hundred kilometers down byways and highways to the battlefields in Normandy. Finishing up today, I will do a Show Off and a countertop test video here shortly (by this weekend) All of the Tamiya Powder Kits weathering will be erased by the first drive outside but the pin wash and flats will hold up. The Commander is the original Figure dusted off to deliver the Tank. New crew figures are waiting in the wings!

Painless
