Barrel elevation now by servo. Slipring also installed, glued to the Airsoft unit to be as center as possible.

Video of barrel elevation servo testing:

Looks like you got increased range of movement with that. Quite an improvement over the stock HL.
If you are using the Hl transmitter is there enough give in the setup that the barrel can be lowered onto the rear deck without something breaking before it starts to move up again?

Greengiant: I'm using a FrsKy transmitter that came with the IBU2. I don't think it's possible if using the HL electronics. AFAIK the HL MFU doesn't recognize servos. Plus, the HL gun elevation mechanism has limited depression range.

Scalawag: elevation would be greater without the Airsoft unit as it hits the turret ring. One way I could solve that is to extend the Airsoft mount on the gun barrel. But that would take more work so I'll leave it alone. Depression though is better alright, now the tank can really hide behind berms etc in defilade like the real thing :D

That answers my question I thought you wanted to keep the airsoft and had maybe made a setup in which the airsoft and the Hl elevation gear set where permanently connected together and the servo moved the gear set and the airsoft as a single unit with the elevation gearbox loose from its turret mountings.

Currently refurbishing the Leo2 with the M1's stock electronics. Apparently I'm missing a couple of screws....

No idea. :haha: I'll be getting the metal sprockets and ketchup bottles ( :haha: ) next week. I'll also be adding the chevron markings on the skirts and CIPs. Hopefully sometime in November.

OBTW, I took the tank for a spin yesterday and damaged some of the stuff I added :haha: :haha: :haha:
