There’s so much on here now it’s quite difficult to keep up and find what you may want, so I agree perhaps a split into scale and/or trucks and tanks would help users pinpoint what they are looking for be it a 1/10 tank or a 1/16 truck
It’s your tank it’s what you make it

Dusting off the old *database designers hat* I once wore (been a while since I got involved in this kind of stuff...) I guess the fundemental question that needs to be asked is do people want to search by scale, by cost (i.e. free or not), by ease of printing (i.e trucks and tracked vehicles using 'off the shelf parts' vs 'print everything'), or by something else?

Once that is understood, then maybe that would make it more clear how the information should be structured and presented

Nothing is more simple than asking the user "how do you want to search for the answer to your question?" ;)

Well, that is a bit of a surprise. I am always open for improvements and suggestions.

To answer some questions/remarks

The list in the first post is already divided in scales, 1/6, 1/10 and 1/16, and some odd ones in 1/8. If it is easier for people to search I can divide it in "tanks", "trucks" and "others" per scale. No problem.

Most people are looking for a specific model, and actually dont know the designers so shrinking the list to only links to designers is not the best idea for me.

I am not going to split the list in several posts. That would give me only more work to maintain. I do this because i like to help people to find what they are looking for and to help the designers to reach their customers. Without the designers we wouldnt have so many great models already.

If somebody else want to maintain this list in another way, be my guest, I dont mind.

Yes, very true Jaap, you don't really want to mess about.
I was just worried about how many postings there were for one thread.
I would be happy to split the thread how I first mentioned, tanks here, and everything else in a second thread, if that was acceptable for you?

I prefer to keep it in one list, as for me, it is simply a list of available 3d printable models. I started the main list in the first post to keep an overview. I do understand that all seperate posts makes it diffcult to find anything. That is in any case how it started for me. It is also easier to suggest just one link to the list on other social media (mostly facebook)

Ok, no worries.
It was just a thought. I'll remove this conversation in a bit so as not to clutter this thread

Not necessary of course.
I will reorganize the first post in different sections, so it will be a bit more clear for somebody who is searching

And I changed the name of the thread to 3D models to print, it is more in line with the content :D
