The grenade launchers are masked because the turret at the time wasn't completely painted. I haven't painted the black sploteches at the time.

Turret is painted. Again, not perfect but I am satisfied. Some areas need to be touched up, and I have to paint over the green with brown at one area. Other than those issues, the turret paint job is done. Will give it a clear gloss protection layer before placing the decals, final clear gloss and final clear flat.
Now the pix.

The turret glacis CIPs are painted Desert Sand.

Smoke poppers now have the cable cover. The brown splotch at that area should've extended to the bottom. Will fix that when I have paint.

Hatch latch detail (better pix).

The paint and primer lifted away from the turret bustle which has a plastic that resist adhesion somewhat. I should've sanded it for the primer to adhere but well....

Atc Looking very good. Are you going to do the front turret panels as still having the protective covers on them.
I thought I saw a pic of the real loaders hatch catch mounted as yours is, looked through prime portal pics over and over but can't find it now. where did you find it?

Thanks Giant. Nope, the CIPs will be exposed. They should be lighter in colour IIRC, or leaning towards the khaki spectrum, but with all that green, I figured I'd like a desert sand colour to give some contrast hehehe
I found the pix in the French M1A2 SEP v2 gallery link you posted some time ago, this one: http://olivier.carneau.free.fr/gb_version/index.htm
I am glad that despite my heavy painting, the coats weren't too thick to cover the serial number/Abrams's birthdays:

Meanwhile, Pikachu is eagerly awaiting for the drivetrain to be done hehehe

Re: Something I've been doing the past days
That's were I saw it.
Wondered where the pics were taken as the ammo blow off panels are not like any on SEP's or other Abrams on Prime Portal except for the M1E1 and decided to go with one like the ones on prime portals SEP's.
Been looking at to many Abrams pics.
