LOL, I am doing this as build this way because I have all the hard work already done....the wheels line up on the tracks, the suspension works and all the mess with the turret is figured out already....If you look around a little on these fourms, you will see lots of really cool scratch builds that were never finished. The little details like track line and turret fit killed the build. I am going to fight this tank. Anyone can make really cool looking shelf queens....making something that can go out and fight all weekend with out blowing a track or loosing gun elevation....thats the tough part.

Yes agree. No point in having a self queen. To have a self queen is to buy a static kit in the 1st place. Look forward to seeing more pics as the build comes along.

Just got to say what a superb job your doing with this KT. Takes a lot of nerve to carve up a KT and restructure the suspension as you have done. The amount of hours that you have put in is monumental and that is just the construction element of it !! The painting is another major job in itself.

Well done mate. If the master class board was still open you would get my vote.

Cheers

STEINER.

For the one or two people following this...here is the next step....hatches, they got to open imo. Here is how I make them work.....

I already cut them out using the drill method. I cleaned up the edges and added some green puddy....I also added a sheet of 2.5mm plastic card under them...

Image

next I need some liners for the under sides....

Image

and "like a glove!" * in the Ace Ventura voice*

Image

next its time to find the center line for the mount....

Image

Time to mod some small bolts.....

Image

Image

then you sandwitch bolt in the liner and glue the whole mess togather...then add a small spring and a nut and tou have a spring loaded hatch...

Image

Image

Time to mark the hatch openings....

Image

and its dremmel time....

Image

well that was last night......
