did'nt want to start an SS row, many people on this forum model Waffen SS tanks,They are just a part of military History, excess happens on all sides, there are vets of the W-SS that have forever been appalled by the excesses of both fellow soldiers and the regime, all armies have thier shameful moments, the canadian officers came to the defence of former enemy Kurt Meyer at his trial,I've never seen my best mates head blown off,or my family killed in an air raid so I don't know what if I would have done had I been a British,Canadian,US,Russian,or German soldier in WW2,The total nature of that conflict left so many combatants in a state of mental angst with loss of loved ones, war is terrible,

Kurt Meyer was sentenced to life without perole but the german goverment saw fit to release him after 7 years that was hardly justice and the canadian goverment condemed germany for his release as well as the canadian army as the canadians wanted him to serve life not hanging

We are a model tank forum, building machines of death and daily we debate their designs, use and combat efficiency. Did the IQ's in the room just drop off the edge? Hell my Granddad, and both his brothers killed any Japanese period because at 20,000 feet they are all targets, men, women, children, dogs cats and anyone else in the way. 80,OOO Japanese killed in one fire bomb carpet saturation attack thanks to Curtis LeMay(who I think had to be Canadian) and we think that was ok. necessary, justified.
Tanks, the hobby, the Armies, the politics should be shelved and let's just admit the damn Canadians started the whole thing! Saxondog

But what do goverments know, they just send people to their doom anyway,Canadian officers who had fought him came to his defence, just as allied naval officers came to Dönitz defence,Speer was spared because he was useful to the allies,Sauckel was hanged although he was junior to Speer,(Todt org, forced labour issue)allied justice was hypocricy, yes the SS was condemmed as a criminal organisation, but the vast majority of the 900,000 odd men that served in combat units, were just soldiers like any other,British airbourne officers have gone on record to say that SS units showed chivalry and fairness even care for prisoners at Arnhem, there has been accusations of Canadian executions of prisoners.heresay, just like the Canadian charges,I have more faith in the words of the people that served at the front, than the usual bull crap from political guttersnipes, yeah right the army did'nt want him to hang because they knew that the actions of a few individuals and junior officers and the odd senior allied commanders could also come into question, there is guilt on all sides,it took many years for W-SS vets to get pension rights, the majority had done nothing but fight for their country,I have met dozens of vets on both sides and W-SS also.Brits who fought them at hill 112 Normandy, and they don't hold the same views and grudge as yourself and others that were'nt there, who are any of us to judge?

Ok,everyone understand this is a thread about AVATARS, GRAPHICS AND THE MEMBERS CHOICE. No political discussion is relevant, required or needed.
Everyone on this forum is building models of machines that were built,AND USED as killing machines. All of them were built to kill, the men inside were trained to kill and their commanders were ordered to kill by their government officials.Nothing we can say will change any of that.
My political discussion on this forum begins and ends by simply saying they all suck, each and every politicain of every country sucks.
Now let's talk about tanks,or Tanks,or even Tanks and Avatars about tank units,or maybe we could all talk about members Avatars which demonstrate the units that used the Killing machines know as Tanks,AFV,ARMOR,PANZER, TIN CAN,ROLLING THUNDER.
But leave the who killed who out of it, I model Grossdeutschland only, why? They have the highest KILL RATIO of any Panzer unit in any Army, they were the best at killing. (And yes their kill ratio's were better than the Canadians)
DEINE WAFFE-Grossdeutschland,it's on my Avatar, the same one I use on every forum that is about model tanks or WWII. Has anyone ever said it offends them? No
You know what offends me,Sherman Tanks, their junk, instant death machines our American and British and Canadian Politicians knew they were inferior but they also knew if 10 got killed for every German Tank killed they would by shear numbers win, so the government of the allies sent men to die with that understanding? That is a war crime? Innocent men sent to die on purpose by a Government? Gee that sounds bad, damn those bad politicians for killing innocent people.
No more political discussions, it always is bad, please talk about Tanks, and Tanks or Tanks, except maybe Tanks stuff,or Tanks that killed Tanks.

....................................I support your opinion on all fronts..........we
ALL like Tanks / Panzers, we
ALL own them, we
ALL paint them, we
ALL modify them, We
ALL get upset when we mess them up!!.............. and ultimately we >
ALL PLAY< with them, they are just
BIG BOYS TOYS .........so lets
ALL just enjoy our
TOYS and not squabble over them like little children......we are, after all supposed to be BIG BOYS.....If you want to talk about 'Politics' or 'who killed who' then there are plenty of
OTHER forums that you can join and debate the issue with other people.......NOW LETS ALL PLAY WITH OUR TOYS....
