This would be a good one Parkzone J3 Cub, comes in Cub yellow,
slap some foam friendly olive drab and some D-Day strips and she
would look great next to a Sherman or spotting over some Panzers.
Pretty easy to fly and cheap as well! U-Tube link below...........

Re: Scale aircraft
You could potentially make the Guillows model as an r/c model with a bit of beefing up in the fuselage, but you'd have to watch the weight of the aircraft and weigh your balsa and be frugal on the paint, or use covering film. Flying larger scale models is tricky and flying smaller scale mid, or low wing war birds is even worse. I have a few in the 43,48, 38.5 inch wingspan in my collection and have passed my B certificate in aerobatics from the British Model Flying Association, which means I can fly model Spitfires, Typhoons etc at show days and events, however a fast small electric Stuka would be a challenge outdoors as a 2-3mph breeze could play havoc.
However the cub would be a good choice with it's high wing, stable flying characteristics which would make it a good all round low vice trainer and painted green, it might pass for the spotting aircraft in the Battle of the Bulge film (forgotten the name), or a Fiesler Storch perhaps?
