I only just found this. So I thought I would add my current bike. I've owned lots over the years, and been all over the place on them, as well as doing trail riding (till I broke my knee, not a good idea in a muddy lane miles from civilisation...I had to ride the bike 20 miles home). Love touring, been all over UK, and done France loads of times, Spain, Pyrenees, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium etc etc.

Interesting Kwacker, I know the guy who does the Kawasaki UK drag bikes. http://www.timblakemoreracing.co.uk/, or used to, haven't seen him for a while.

Best 'car' I ever owned was one I had shipped over from Japan. Owned by Kamatsu or someone and fully specced for off roading. I had to sell it when I blew the head!

and the bike....all nice and cosy over the winter... :D

Lat winter in the UK I was riding it to work during some pretty interesting weather, I got on it when I came out of work, started it up, pulled away and came to the usual slope down onto Bristol City Centre in the rush hour, the lights ahead went red so I applied the brakes...and discovered that they were frozen solid. I went straight through a red light and down into the traffic before the heat let them work again!

Here's my baby. 1998 Z28 camaro SS clone. Not much horse power, just a pretty cruiser.

@Alison, that Orkney Capri looks like it is brand new, a modern classic if ever there was one, . You had 40 plus, hell, that must be nearly all of them?

A friend found this picture, from July or august 1984,the GPZ750TURBO IS mine,The Yamaha FJ100 belongs to Stan Hilton and the GPZ750A belongs to Cliff Spellman,we were on the way to Dragon's Tail to run time trails(if we could get away with it) and I had completely forgotten about this picture. All the bikes are new and Talking with Ice about his Kawasaki I thought I would post this.

This is the same bike I still have, their is a forum picture of it sitting behind my 1/6 Tiger. To be young again,I was 20 years old. Funny how we were driving to the most dangerous road way in America for bike racing.Well seems we survived. Dragons tail is one of three mountain pass back highways, the challenge 318 turns in 11 miles, either side of the road way is steep and if you leave the road really bad things happen and many have.

Sounds like a blast, I know a guy down the road here in the UK who flies over, rents a Honda ST, and rides Deals Gap.

I used to like going to the Isle of Man, no speed limits out of the villages, nothing beats piling up behind a cop car at 120mph, watching him slow and pull over, with a hand out of the window waving you past as you wind it up to 150mph.

I think my most memorable moment was when I was racing a big mouthed friend around the circuit over the mountain, he was on a CBR600 and me on a tuned 1200 Bandit. He had me beat everywhere, but I stayed on his tail watching his cornering strategy. He was so impressed with himself scraping his knee round every corner that he didn't realise he was swinging out on the entrance to every bend to do it. I waited till the last bend before we hit the speed limit signs, pinned myself on his tail, he braked and drifted out...at which point I outbraked him with my back wheel off the deck and went through on the inside. He shut up after that! :D
