Wow the figures is a definate slippery slope all of its own, I started with just the crew for the Panther, and 7 years later I have over 100 figures, but it's fun, did I then mention the ancillary stuff too
I'm glad you like this build I used pretty much stock gear, and made a few changes mainly for run-ability, I've fed all of this back to Dave at BKA, so hopefully any more Hetzer builds will be a little easier, there is one more thing I intend to to other than the idler wheel (4 holes to 8 ) and thats to replace all those white metal hatch handles with copper wire as you will spend hours gluing them back on.

I know what you mean about the figures - I started out getting a few 1/18 scale 'ornaments' for our club battlefield - and now I think I could successfully invade Canada with all the forces at my disposal

- 21st Cent Toys should be classified as a class A drug for WW2 junkies like me
Loving the Hetzer, hope I get to see her up close one day!

It doesn't seem like a lot done today, but the mudgards have been fixed and trimmered so deck can be fitted.
I also refitted the exhaust after acid etch priming.
The rest of the day was spent bending brass and assembling tools in readyness, when the next batch of 8ba nuts and bolts arrive, cheers Dave

I'm sorry its been a while on the Hetzer updates but work does get in the way of a perfectly good hobby
Anyway inbetween work and family I started on the detail parts
I've started to fit it to the chasis, making those little adjustments as I go
I thought I better put a figure in, to make Mrs BKA chuckle
As you can see I've managed to fit the convey light and tool box to the rear mud guard
I also offered up the wire cutters as per the instructions, and I didn't like them so I'm going to turn them round
I've also added the side armour mounting nuts and bolts to the upper deck, but I will take pictures of this when its back on the model
There you go onwards and upwards

I expect the Panzer IV's will be the first to run out, I'm popping down to BKA on Saturday, I know how you Feel Cliff I would love a Panzer IV, but I've no chance of raising the money this side of 2012, to many projects on the go, once this one is done, I've got a JgPz IV to put to rights, then my King Tiger needs some new shoes, then there is a little project for the Panther I have in mind

when does it end, they are worse than than the kids.

Thats a beautiful piece of engineering! I'm enjoying your build very much.

I know how both of you guys feel about saving up, i'd love a 1/6 scale tank, but the big problem for me, is I have absolutely no space for it! lol
Cheers,
Rik

I can relate to the space thing to, up to Dec 2003 I lived in a 3 bed mid terrace in Yeovil Somerset, the back garden was the size of a postage stamp and the patio had enough space for a 6 x 4 shed, so I had 1/16th and 1 1/8th T90 which I had to drive in through the front door, into the living room and to his home under the stairs, 1/6th was impossible as even the Panther would not have fitted through either of the front doors or negotiated the turns to the understairs tank hanger

fortunately my wife decided she wanted to move back "North" to somewhere nearer both our families and to sweeten the deal the wife said we would get a house with either a garage, or room for a decent shed, and she would buy me my first 1/6th, so in Feb 2004 I got my Panther.
Sorry to bore you, but before I forget the Hetzer is powered at the moment with 12v, but I thought I would give it a go at 24v to see if it made the turning on grass better, and it has wow much better, I think it will be a full time conversion, now there is a speed increase, but as I told BKA I can always not run it flat out

Most of the work done tonight was the converting to 24v, so mostly inside work, but you will notice the bolts are in to attached for the side armour
I've also added some more of the rear detail
Typically one if the lads couldn't resist jumping in for a test drive
