I'm doing my first Sherman. This could be a complete disaster but considering I actually used to hate Shermans all the reading up on them I'm totally fascinated. Which is a bad thing because I could end up with 50 different variants :O :haha: :D

PanzerMechaniker!
Each version of the Sherman brings something to the Table! One of my favorites is Pooles 3rd 'In the Mood' I really need to redo the electronics in mine (again)!

I have to admit I always wanted to do a Marines Sherman on Tarawa one but there are so many Sherman variants it is a scratchbuilder's dream but I'm not a scratchbuilder although the one I'm doing I only see one build thread on RCTW of the one I'm doing although it is a well known Sherman. But back to your lovely KT

Good Morning!
As noted, back to the King Tiger for the time being. (A Tip O' the Hat to PanzerMechaniker) Alan, Thanks for checking it out. It will do. I'm not as enamored of the 2 color scheme on the extinguisher and mount using Rottbraun and Dunkelgelb as I had thought. I may repaint the extinguisher in Olive Grun and leave the Mount as is. We'll see. Happy Friday
regards,
Painless

Painless, is your "In the Mood" based on the "old" (not compared to me) Mato plastic one? My dream is a cast hull, low bustle cast turret M4. But then, I dream a lot.

Good Morning, Herr Dr. Professor!
'In The Mood' is indeed Mato's first 1/16 scale M4A1-76W Sherman (all in plastic) I have a long running Build Thread for this one, (lowering the turret by removing the 'too high' rotation ring, replacing the Airsoft cannon more than once, having the General make me a new main gun barrel for the tank in Brass and completely redoing the electronics to the new back then, MATO soundset and adding an aftermarket sound pot) It will soon be time to open it up again and decide whether I want to go 'Servo' on the main gun which will need an updated MATO 'Clark' board or Heng Longs 7.0 Set....Whew!

Painless

I love it and if I can get my Sherman build to even half as good I'll be happy. I'll check out your build thread on it. I've been concentrating on reading the welded hull Sherman 76 builds for ideas but I obviously need to expand my research. I knew I shouldn't have gone down the Sherman rabbit hole. Damn you could spend a lifetime reading up and modelling all the variants but it is fascinating. People say German tanks have too many variants :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Mr Painless, your Sherman is another build that could tip me over to the dark side. I need something for those rotten Tigers to shoot at. And, as for the fire extinguisher? Simply exquisite.
