Nice model you have there. I like the Jagdpanthers.

Might I suggest you look at Aber Kit 16018 for the Schurzen, a little pricey but it is all metal including the mounts and securing clips.

Alternatively you could get the book “Panzer Tracts 9-3” for the Jagdpanther. Well worth it if you intend upgrading your tank. It has lots of scale drawings and photos. It has scale drawings of the Schurzen plates and the mounts and retaining clips. They all just flat pieces of metal cut to shape with holes cut in them and bent where appropriate, fairly easy to make out of brass or aluminium.

All up and running now and i dont have to remove an idler to adjust the track tension as theres 2 external screws on bottom rear of hull that does it
I had hoped to use the old rear panel from plastic hull but the panel was well and truly glued in on both hulls

The lower hull arrived from Dave (Forgebear) on Friday, Sept. 26 and you have it all painted an running on Sunday, Sept. 28, right? Whew! Your modeling speed is supersonic; mine is tectonic.

A few years ago my Tamiya KV-2 arrived on a Thursday afternoon from Japan. I had it fully built and painted with IR system in for the Saturday morning club battle. Yea that was really stupid in retrospect. I should have enjoyed the build more. :haha: :haha: :haha:

the wheels , sprockets ,idlers and tracks were already painted from being on the old plastic hull so didnt need painting
reason for changing the hull was the rear idlers were sitting with a fair bit of toe in owing to the adjuster or hull being warped
the idlers were trying to climb over the track guides then they would slip back making quite a clunking noise when driving it
i tried spacing with washers but it was throwing the tracks out to the side and it didnt look right
also couldnt find metal replacement tensioners apart from 1 from Germany but that was 47 euros
The Taigan hull had this adjuster and was less than £20 more so a few questions about it to Dave at Forgebear and new hull was duly purchased
really glad i did now

Hell yes! My Tiger is built from parts from several manufactures (chassis, hull, turret, main gun, electronics, tracks etc) but that’s what you gotta do for certain tanks to appear prototypical. Your tank looks beautifully done.

Got fed up with the screw hole in the rear idlers
Had a look in my bits bobs box and found some fibre optic connector covers so used them
After painting them up and weathering them it looks a lot better
