@Mr.Bix:
First some layers out of a rattle can, Dark Yellow from Fosco Army Paint.
I used Tamiya Flat Green with a brush for the camo pattern.
Finally an Enamel wash with AK300.

And didn’t it turn out spectacularly

I have been reducing the sprocket thickness to suit the early tracks , nothing to see but a decline in my liver function :/ :headbang:

After Rob59's post about using Fosco Army Paint, I had to check. Here's the link: https://army-paint.com/. Of course, for those of us overseas shipping would be out, I'd think, as airline passengers might not like the effect of paint exploding in the luggage hold.

Did I say something about behaving?

Yeah thats unfortunate. They look to have some cool colors. Too far for us HDP.

But don't forget that I had good luck with Crosslink paints when needing real RAL paint colors-

Surprisingly, in the U.S., we have an ample selection of paints. Apart from AK Interactive, Mig, Vallejo and so many more acrylics that are found around the world, there are two relatively "new" lines picking up where the late, great Model Master and Floquil have been missed. Here are two examples:

The man who coordinated the 2024 IPMS Nationals and was once an editor for Fine Scale Modeler has sold his "Scale Colors" paint line to Squadron, now marketed as

"Squadron Scale Colors" paints: https://squadron.com/paint/

And here's another brand I have found: https://www.truenorthpaints.com/paintstore.

Well, the multiple sprockets are assembled & pre-painted.
Idler sprockets are mounted
Gearboxes are installed
Drive sprockets and support bearings are ready to go in.
Once I can set the MFU up and get it into basic movement functionality, the tracks can be test fitted for length & any tension setting done, then the gooooooooooood stuff can happen :shifty:
Still not certain how I might get the barrel slew, elevation & recoil going , but thats the good stuff!
Right now I will be happy with full drive & steering control & look forward to the next bit ;)

And now the very familiar sloop of the Ferdinand takes better shape.
The track guards are next to be secured

No Sir, I got those as a fluke back in 2019!! From Italy.
Early Ferdinand, not later Elefant.
Makes all the difference. ;)
