Its been a while..... come back
The King Tiger is done now but I never updated this so Im gonna do that now.

Soooo..

Just pick right up---

I ordered the complete sides from Ludwigs to remove the fenders but the evergreen company is like in Illinois or something and sent me what I ordered in like 2 days. So I got .375 and .312 both .080 thick. The .312 filled the gap perfectly. So I rolled with it.

I abandoned the mato fenders for this one.

I plan to use my ludwigs sides on my production King Tiger that I dont have yet. ALSO went ahead and got some jagdtiger sides and today started on a late production Jagdtiger which I plan to also use ludwigs sides.

So anyway we got the strips figured out I went ahead and did the body work. But this thing is a fighter and it fought the entire way.

One day, I got done early and felt like doing some tank stuff. The KT needed wiring up and I knew I was running a servo recoil and had a TK-7.1 on the way.

BuT I had a 7.0 on hand and figured I could atleast get everything wired and working (ImageImageImage🥲ImageImage) as it should.

I can't remember if I hooked the motors up and it made a grinding noise or if I just noticed the gears were obliterated.

I only see 1 pic with a 7.0 I must have found it first. Sweeeeeet

So then ordered gear boxes from taigen I think. Or maybe forgebear. My tiger 217 and this both received new taigen boxes recently. Each set came from one of those places but I can't remember which from where.

More sitting.ImageImage

Gear boxes installed 7.1 installed got it running and driving ---feeling accomplished----

Can't find the video of it driving with no upper. It did it though. Anywayzzz now we really get into some "more funner" stuff.

ARMOR TEXTURE 3 rounds but then weld beads!!!

Weldbeads are my favorite detail. On this model they still look a little soviet.... but I determined for the future I need to be a little more aggressive on the armor texture and a little more subdued on the weld beads. Im also going to make up a new tool for the future. Though I used this same tool again on a tiger 1 and they look pretty good. It'll be in the showoff section when complete.

Then it sat like that for a while again. At this point is when it became the forgotten king tiger. Work was rollin and I have 13 tanks so I was just playing with um. I couple can go down and still not break my stride hahahaha

Next post detail parts + colorsImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

"I'm also going to make up a new tool for the future." If you are making a tool for weld beads, I'd sure like to see it and how it works. Please. I've done texturing to imitate cast iron, but weld beads for some reason frighten me. :{

The tool I made I learned from Nightshift's YouTube videos. But here's a quick video showing how to make one. I use round chop sticks instead of a paint brush stick but it really doesn't matter what you use. Although they're simple and made out of literal junk they're quite resilient and last awhile. Best part is they're adjustable, I tweak, pinch and sand them down or just make a new one.

I will definitely post up the details when I fashion a new tool. This is what I've been using. I use the big end to flatten stuff out and Zimmerit. The pointy end for the weld beads. I like the pointy end just would like it to have a little curve to it.

Its like Mr Chef told me when I first did them green stuff you have plenty of working time you can rip it out and try as many times as you like!!Image

Oh yeah!! I need to get comfortable with this app to be on here on my phone. I need to adjust the notifications!

Looks like you've got a couple lined up. Of course i dont know when ill ever wanna get rid of mine. I still want more tanks!!

Thanks for the info I've seen that before and the couple times I tryed I couldn't get satisfied with the metal to wrap around the handle like. I thought soda can was to thin. Didn't have much other this stuff on hand. So i found that uh... device and it seemed to suite my needs. Just lacking the curve but the V in the end almost does it. On boat here we use Cooper shims level out push motors with hard mount engine beds I thought i had some in the shop but must have threw them away when I got the new boat. Which is unusual I like to hoard. I think they would be the perfect gage to fashion into a tool

Alright so I left out I added the Richard Johnson servo recoil rig whenever the barrel showed back up. Its and easy install and works good. I recommend!!

Got all the empty clamps and stuff which are just the stock HL plastic accessories I cut the clamps out and drill holes where I could! The fendersmud guard mounts brackets are from Ludwigs!! Also neglected to mention at this point I let go of the bovington V2 likeness....while popping the coupla off isn't a big deal there's no way im takin the door off the back of the turret!!!

So then with with the red oxide primer. Only the FINEST hardware store primer will do for me. Ive had 2 jumbo cans of red primer for all my tanks so far.... then the base coat!!

After I had the base coat applied I couldn't wait and took it out !!

Remember what I said about it being a fighter... well the tracks done showed me a new trick!!! Pins walked out something FIERCE! Ive got that about licked now ive been smashing the ends with pliers to widen them then putting them back in!!!

On Ward!!!!

Thank you!! Yes this is Tiger 113 that i posted in the show off section the other day.

I had finished it about a month ago but I had never completed the build log. Im definitely missing some parts but this is roughly how it went.

I'll probably get the rest on here the next day or 2
