Is that metal that's left all one piece or is it joined at the top of the turret?

The metal from the top of the turret is like a platform of the turret mold that the rest of the box attaches to and hangs from on the back. Since I removed it to see what I'm working with it seems alot easier with respect to cutting it off and modding it. I had previously thought it was going to be a much more serious cutting job if I decide to do a different Rommel Bin. Since I made the Recoil/Elevation mod there is a load more space in the turret itself but of course I'll have to stuff the Heng Long Electronics back in.

This is without the box pieces removed but theres no need for all that extra empty space hanging now.

I would suggest buying the Trumpeter/Heller/Chrome static panzer III and use the turret from this kit. It's a lovely kit we both Louis and I used to convert to RC and even if you only use the turret, you can use a lot more details from the kit that would be much better (but not metal :().

Thank you for the suggestion. I have 2 criteria when building these Tanks.1. I have to have some semblance of a budget and 2.They must be functioning RCTanks that can bash around as well as look good. So wile the model direction is a very attractive idea I'm already very close to #1 and although I'd definitely appreciate nicer details especially on the upper hull I'm not sure I'd go the model route because I'd probably slit my wrists if one of mine got banged up especially when I see the level of effort and expertise that you and Louis put into your projects.

The metal turret is by far not a necessity. It's much easier to mod and model plastic but this Taigen Turret was on a ridiculous sale and I was able to apply a further discount. I wanted it mainly because it offered better details And the available cannon recoil that I was interested in mating to the Heng Long TK 7.0.

Sounds good.Thank you for considering it. I'm definitely interested and appreciate it.

Is the antenna like this also something that could be printed?

If you print a PZIII bin I would be interested. I know I will eventually do an early Tiger so having one already would make things easier
