I think Magnum Force was the best of the series! Albert Popwell, I knew he was in the first two, didn't realize in the third and forth. I'll have to drag them out and re-watch (love my DVD's).

I love a big (N) frame Smith and Wesson (all their others too).

There's going to be a lot of things operating on this vehicle--as usual for an Ecam build--so if it's not getting too far ahead of the game, what board and what functions are you planning on?

This is going to be a stunner!

On both of the DUKWs I simply went with a six channel receiver and a wheel transmitter (Flysky FS-GT5) so I'll probably go with this (smoke and sound are fairly low on my list). The transmitter is programmable and saves something like 20 models an extra receiver is about $20 USD. It gives 4 full servo control channels and two others that are on off or three position. If it needs more channels I may look to something else. I have zero experience with aftermarket boards all my stuff is Heng Long or Tamiya (other than a few other RCs that are Futaba or Flysky. I'm trying to figure out how to build a front axle disconnect but it is low on my list.

Edit: I guess I never answered the rest of your question. Steering, throttle, three winches, lights and possibly a front axle disconnect.

Just before departing for vacations, I was 3d modeling the Garwood winch of the DUKW. I thought about getting it working but finally dropped the ball. But now I see you are making working M25 winches, I have to do the same on both the DUKW and M25!
I was thinking using worm gear to conceal as much as possible the motor.

This is what I think is a real build. I love the scratch building that is done. My JT will just be cosmetic changes to an existing model in comparison. I imagine my "build" is done first. Probably late September

A future problem that I see is the drive train. Worm drive would typically put the motors where room is needed for other parts. I thought about a chain (or belt) and sprockets feeding from opposite sides of the winch deck. I didn't attempt to make the 16th DUKW's winch work, too small and no room. Oddly the 60k lbs winch on the M32 and this one on the M26A1 both in 16th are near the size of the much less powerful winch on the 9th(ish) scale DUKW.

I've been accused of building too fast before... Take your time and enjoy the journey!
The more that 3D printing has evolved the old school "scratch building" has declined. I tip my hat to those who can design and print things to use in this hobby (and I have an unused 3D printer), but it is not a strong point for me. My first tank was relatively stock (back then) my second was a scratch build. The road not taken (or seldom used) is kind of my goal in many things I do in life.

This is far as I'm going on the winch until later in the build. The dog bone can be adjusted if needed.
