I did print the mount, but I thought it was going on the Commander's side. Since it was on the loader's hatch, I couldn't use the mount the way it was designed as I had installed the metal recoil and servo elevation unit. I had to make a platform for the elevation servo to sit on that uses the mounts your unit uses. I did end up modifying it to fit in the Command's hatch, but without the mounting hardware. I'm doing a build thread on my Chieftain so I can show you what I mean.
Yeah, it was originally designed to be on the loader hatch. Will be nice if you could share what have you done.

I have actually got a set of 390 motor (longer 380) that replaced the motor that come with the chieftain. certainly make the tank faster.
The motor that I was using is a set of RC390MH-5717. Come with front ball bearing, and rated for 22K rpm at 7.4V without load.
Good and inexpensive motor if your tank has the space for it. Chieftain certain does.

Yeah, I put a set of the Taigen 390 motors in mine.

Work in progress to redesign the elevation mechanism to use a MG90s servo instead using 3d printing.
I really does not like the HL elevation unit that has limited range, not very fast, and especially the clicking limit sound.
Direct replacement of the HL unit, with an additional work of an extra hole on the gun unit. I suspect that the similar design can be used for other tanks as well.

Looks good. I've been using just a generic STL for my mounts. I can cut it down to the right height depending on what hatch I'm mounting it in, but I like the mount you made.
I really appreciate this approach now after a IR battle event. A generic approach and not tied to a specific connector is a great idea.

Hi Hi,
I have attended a battle event over the weekend and did a number of tweaks to the TBS base unit and holder.
Now, added additional screw hole on the holder to secure the base unit.

When I am using the Haya Centurion wheels on the Chieftain, the Centurion wheel hub cap design is really different from what is supposed to be on the Chieftain.
Unfortunately and fortunately, I lost a hub cap during a recent event that inspired me to create a 3D printed design for Chieftain that fit the Centurion wheels.

I was trying to increase the ride height of the chieftain by adding a 2mm offset to the arm. See how it will perform in rough terrain.

I love the chieftain tracks with rubber pad. But the rubber pads keep falling off.

Nothing that a 3d printing track pad can't fix.
