Because of the notorious lack of time I have not been unfortunately able to create anything for a long time.
So I at least went through the machine as part of the inspection and preparation for the upcoming season.
Apart from the fact that the servo for controlling the driver's hatch died, no major malfunction has been recorded so far...

This Saturday the opening of the season in the Museum of Military Technology Lešany took place.
As part of the accompanying program, there was also a demonstration of RC models and the opportunity to shoot some footage of offroad driving...

Great video. The suspension seems to work really well, but I'm wondering if the 1st road wheel might be a little under sprung? Just seems like the idler gets really close to the ground.

IMHO the spring is balanced quite well. In comparison with real beast it behaves similar...
Also AFAIK the track tension setup has an effect in real life, the track was tensioned more on the road and more ground clearance was left for offroad, so the idler was set up and down based on that.
I mean you can find different idler positions out there, so hard to judge

It is a pleasure to hear from you again, Shotek. The second video demonstrates your good control of the T-34's movement in some interesting terrain. That must be enjoyable. I see, too, from the link you provide, exactly what you mean about the adjustment of the track tension on the real T-34. I was not aware that crews might readjust track tension for differing terrain. That is interesting to learn. Thank you!

The crew could unlock the idler wheel lock mechanism and rotate the worm gear to set the new position. The mechanism was then re-locked in new posistion. This was one of the service tasks, it was not possible to do it while the tank was moving, only on the spot.
